AA Supercharger for Z4M

Hi, Has anyone supercharged their Z4M with an Active Autowerks supercharger? I have seen a used kit offered for an E46 M3, but wondered about the ECU compatibility. I can alter the pipework etc as necessary, but wondered if anyone on here has done it. I know at least a couple of members on here have used ESS kits, which I still may use. The kit is 2 years old and is the version 6 level 2 with meth injection. I have emailed AA directly, but no reply as yet, hence my post. It is to be fitted to (at present) a standard 08 car, and I will probably have the engine rebuilt with lower comp pistons etc. Any experienced feedback welcome.
Cheers.

do it.......

mod the kit out and ill send you one of my base files to get you up and running, you'll be able to drive to Evolve and they WILL tune the car for you and get it operating..... AA dont make a z4m kit, the only prob is you cold probably buy a base kit with everything you need and break even as getting a non z4m kit working may be abit of a minefield, if your confident with the customisation, go for it!!!

Thanks Beedub, I see you have an ESS S/C kit, do you think it is better than the AA kit or was it more for convenience going for an ESS, assuming they do one off the shelf for our Z4M?
Cheers.

just thought it was better than the AA setups, plus i had the chance to get the stage 1 at a decent price, so the upgrade path to where i am now was easy, not to mention.... well the kit performs flawlessly....

From the photos of both kits, the ESS manifold looks nicer and the compressor seems bigger, although looks can sometimes be deceiving? Does the ESS kit run Methanol too?
Originally, I would have loved to put an M3 V8 and DCT box into a Z4MC GT project car that I was thinking of doing. This was to create an easy to drive road/track day car, now that my Z4MC racer has gone. The problem is, as you probably know, is how to do the electrickery with the DCT box. Would I have to build it up so that it thought it was in an M3? I love these conundrums..........mmmmm
So, the road car will probably have to have a compressor to give me extra grunt, which I really missed on my track car, as it could have handled much more torque and made it more fun!

you've nailed it, everything about the ESS kit is oversized and i love that, HUGE intake, huge intercooler and piping and the s/c is truely got damn HUGE, capable of 750+ bhp, CFM rating of 1150cfm, its a whopper and the power im putting through it is barely waking it up, The HKS AA blowers imo, just cant compete, but they do make Great Tq figures!! ]

ohhh the s65 and DCT in this car would be truely wonderful!!! DO it!!!!! i think i remember your racer, it looked awesome!!!! Feel free to pop by my house if you ever i the mids and i'll show you around the car, its really impressive and has really been a labour of love, i can however provide you with that base file whenever you need :-)

BTW methanol was an add on by me, worked on by some of the guys from america, we trialed it and worked out the best ways to use it properly, it yields insane gains in the summer and has some nice side effects, (like stram cleaning the internals).... nasty stuff tho if things go wrong, hence why we use it at 50% water.

OP if you need that base file to get you running PM me :-) i can send it to you but you'll need my cable to flash the car..... This will allow you to get to a tuner , id recommend evolve to live tune the car, they are Really good at tuning the s/c cars on speed density, im going to pop over to them in spring for a tune revision.

Hi Beedub, thanks for your offers of support, if I'm passing I will let you know. Maybe I will look a bit further into the ESS kit, which I originally did before I saw the AA kit.
Happy New Year

1150cfm = 32564 Litres. At 8000rpm the OEM S54 engine consumes 12984 litres12984 litres. Wow! that's some capacity supercharger

Would this work on a N/A S54? Can you refer me to the appropriate reading material?

Yes would 100 % work on NA cars , it basically gives 98 Ron effectively 120 Ron, it also steam cleans internals :-)
Will link you some reading material shortly when I can get to my mac.

he just updted to say the car is going well, no word on the running issues as yet.... the car was running lean uptop which meant he couldnt rev higher than 6500rpm.
