A962 Fault- Roof lid stuck open, roof wont move?

Boot lid flap open with roof inside the boot but nothing will move. Flashing red light on the switch and A692 Hall Sensor VSW5.3 fault stored and just comes back each time you press a roof up or down button.

This is after a few mixed roof ups and downs where I’ve had to press the control buttons a few times to get it to go through it’s cycle - it now seems well and truly stuck.

A692 is saying one of your hall sensors isn’t giving the right readings it needs to move the roof mech

See if you leave it for a while if the roof will move again and close then leave it closed until you can sort the hall sensors

as it hadn’t been running smoothly anyway I have been doing a bit of research and they seem to be linked with the A696 error but once this bloody roof is moving again I might swap em anyway.

Well, It's absolutely sure that A692 indicates the microswitch on the right coupling ("Microswitch, rear-end module closed, right")!

Don't trust those several invented names from the different OBD tools. Even INPA is displaying hall sensors where microswitches are built in. Even though this may be an academic discussion, the correct position and part must be determined in order to solve this problem.

Maybe it can be closed tomorrow after cooling down tonight. No joke!

The "easiest" way to open this package with INPA:
JBE: open the trunk lid to get access to the trunk. pre-close both flippers of the trunk locking system to never close it againg until this problem is solved
CTM: open the front locking system to release the roof package from the trunk
Trunk: take a 6mm allan key and release that brass screw on top of the hydraulic pump, that is placed to the front of the car
Then lift the roof package out of the trunk with support of a 2nd person!

Cheers mate. Where’s that micro switch exactly? any pics? Whilst it was messing me about I was also getting A696 error (even though the hall sensor looks fine) and the A692. Whilst it’s been stuck like that I’m just seeing A692 and a red flashing roof down button in the Control Strip on the centre console.

This is the position to get achieved for repairing:

A696 - "Hall sensor, open circuit, closing movement, rear-end module"

Well discussed and documented here in this forum.

Yeah I’ve seen this fix, quite easy and cheap with the E88 sensors. Even though mine look fine I’ll replace the forward most one.

That position to change the 2 micro switches? Doesn’t look as easy as I’d hoped.

When i had roof stuck in this position it was the connector to hall sensor on the right ram in the boot pulled apart.
When i reached down by ram and pushed wires the roof started working again.
Then later fixed with some super glue to lock connector, it having no means of locking, no clip or barb..
