A window of opportunity. . .dry

Weather forecast highlighted a spell of dry weather so I thought I'd get the Zed washed and waxed and get out for a drive on dry roads - nice to get the Zed shiny again but it didn't last for long so needed another twin bucket wash on return. Headed out to Derwent Reservoir.

Looks better than it is - I need to clay the paintwork as it is extremely rough - waiting for slightly warmer weather before starting that. Whenever possible I've been feeding the leather, treating the seals - little bits and pieces to improve the Zed - but this weather. . .

My garage is full of freezers, extra sinks and washers, driers, bikes - not enough room to get the Zed in unfortunately - may consider another garage when Steph takes early retirement - we have room for it and my Father in Law's new wooden double garage and machine shop is surprisingly spacious and warm. . . so we shall see - certainly could do with it at the moment.

lovely pics.
Did you find people tail-gating you?

Tail-gating . . .err not for long. :?

Biggest problem was resigning myself to the muck being thrown up all over my nice clean Zed - I was surprised by how few cars were out on what was the best day we'd had in weeks. :? The roads have been disgusting since I got the new Zed - a mixture of road grime and mud from fields spread on some of our favourite back roads. Thought this might be a chance to get out on some dry (cleanish) roads. Well some were dry but there had been rain and the roads were still a mess, hence back to square one with the Zed!

Hay ho, role on the new season!

I'm not sure about the colour yet - will wait until I get it clayed and waxed then make my mind up - certainly needs black grills and considering blacking the Z4 and 3.0si badges - maybe even wheels - not certain and that uncertainty comes from the colour - not quite fallen for it yet. Probably go for the 'plasti dip' - that way I can change my mind easily. Steph likes likes the colour a great de and so do many friends. Is it just me? We shall see. . .

Thanks for the comments and hope you're all having a good new year despite the weather!

Roll on spring. . .

Looking good and a nice chance for a blast!

I know what you mean about the roads though. I cleaned mine on Sunday, spent ages, only to drive down the road and some muppet came tearing through a puddle and covered the car in sludgy horrible water. The roads are disgusting so I am washing mine nearly every week at the moment just to keep the worst of it off.

I did the same today! Lovely day in the Essex countryside so I took advantage of the dry roads.

They look like great roads and love your Zed - rear view looks brilliant.

We got out today as well - posted a new thread about getting the Zed filthy again.

Hope you had as good a run as we did ocrx8.

Looks like some good views on the drive!! Is that space grey? It looks great with the sun on it!

(Edit - maybe silver grey but light trickery. Lol)

It's Stratus Grey Tom - a colour I'm slowly getting to know. We had a silver grey facelift before this one and I loved that colour - sometimes this stratus grey can look silver other times far darker - then there is a yellow and purple tint that shades through depending on the light.

I expect it to be at it's best when I eventually get it clayed and some decent layers of polish and wax - it's a sod to keep clean too - the silver grey we had didn't look so bad when filthy.

I'd take rain rather than the filth we've got from all the drowned fields and farm work around here - the bends are lethal at times. . . still spring is nearly here!

I bet! Ah I thought so, it is a really good colour on pics, as you say when clean! Haven't seen one on the flesh before , but kind of reminds me of some of the Alfa colours.
