A whole new level of bodgery!

Forgot to update. Had the car back a few days ago.
Repaired the cut wire and refitted the plug to the original SIM85.
Sure enough, as expected, none of the other modules on the K-Bus would then communicate and nothing worked.
Unplugged the SIM85 and all back to normal.
So a replacement SIM85 fitted, and coded and the car is working fine, with no lights on the dash.
Start to finish, including the initial fault finding, was about 2 hours, which included dismantling the centre console for access and putting it back together again.
Probably about £1k if you went to BMW, if not more!
