I had an almost religious experience today .............

We have a new Uber Boss sent from Houston to sort out our European Operations ...... we met briefly today and he gave me some papers to read - it was a new salary deal, very much less than what I have ...

and I'll add Im working 5 days a week every week in Norway travelling in my own time.

Without a word of a lie .............

I never even looked at the papers. I looked him straight in the eye and said ................... Im married to a girl who is a whole lot younger than me and a damn sight prettier than you ........ I'd rather be home f**king her than here being f**ked by you ..............

the timing was perfect - the effect was monumentous .......

Of course there is a chance tomorrow that I will be fired :D :D

But how often to you get the chance to do something like that ????
 
You will either be fired tomorrow or be made Manager of the European Operations... :P
 
Bloody brilliant , well done you ,this we be your best every career move , iam a great believer everything in life happens for a reason you make your own destiny !
 
Its an american company and they can do anything :D

we shall see - not only do I have a younger wife at home, but I have a shiny red m series in the driveway ..........

Can I afford to be out of work ...... errrr no, do I give a s**t errrrr no.
Life is too short - like the man says, things happen for a reason ..... tomorrow as they say, is another day, I will keep you posted......
 
You do right not letting them walk over you, as above I believe everything happens for a reason, what is the saying,

Change the things you can, accept the things you can't and learn to know the difference, que sera sera...

Not in the UK they can't fortunately for us.

Before I finally stuck two fingers up to them and took VR, my old employer HP wanted to impose a 5% pay cut on all staff....they were able to do so immediately and without consultation in the US but in the UK it had to be voluntary (you can guess what I said). This was at the same time as the then CEO Mark Hurd (later sacked for fiddling expenses and sexual harrassment) was raking in a $40m bonus.....
 
You never know he may consider you for promotion after your outburst you maybe the straight talker he's after,if not then all the best whatever the outcome is :thumbsup:
