A very different BMW sports - am I mad?

Thirty odd years ago I played around developing a kit car based on the Alfa Sud flat 4 boxer engine and messed around with a Cobra kit but never finished a project! But I do like getting oily fingers and miss the opportunity having sold out of classics and in to the Z4. But, am I mad to consider a Pembleton? Why do I keep running through the spec's and find myself reading blogs and snippets on-line?

A BMW or Guzzi bike engine giving up to 300 BHP per ton is obviously madness, It'l never get finished, cost a fortune to build to perfection and won't pass the SVA without lots of fettling. But imagine the finished item! The fever is rising, is it madness? :w00t:

This is as well as the Z4!

Gosh, where's the switch for the electric roof?

Got real original character, quite like it but in no way practical for me

cut my mechanical teeth building a hot rod from scratch, 55 split screen morris minor, jago pop chassis , jag irs, vitesse front suspension, ford 289 cu inch v8 , steellflip front , 16 inch prop, 2 inch dual system with cherry bombs, learnt loads designing and fabricating engine/ gbox mounts , exhausts , floors bulkheads , etc etc bodwork was my greatest theill and sold it to start a body repair business.never made any money at it though so switched to moving , buying and selling antiques and pianos, 27 years on and still love moving pianos as that is what we are known best for, most removers hate them as they dont move many but if you are geared up and like them they are really easy and very satisfying to move.

Looks great and I can see the attraction - however - in my experience the ownership of 'classics' and kits do not always deliver the hoped for experience so now having a sorted and reliable machine which I love the looks of and can enjoy driving daily makes far more sense.

Still, a fabulous looking machine!

:driving:

How does the pemberton do in the Euro NCAP pedestrian safety tests?
:poke: :fuelfire:

It's a fair point, I'm not sure how it would do in any safety tests actually, but I'm going to find out more :)

Nobody knows - all of the test pedestrians have mysteriously disappeared :? :P

Brilliant proper elbow out motoring. Love the dustbin lid steering wheel. Just do it otherwise you'll always wish you had
