Still a buyers market...the ones on eBay have been advertised for many months..still not sold..
Like any car, good ones in accessible locations sell quickly - if they hang around unsold for ages there's normally a reason, it could be anything from being overpriced, mechanically unsound, smelly or even the location of the owner

Ade Flint had one of the best RS' around but it took a bit of time to sell because he lives on the west coast of Wales and it's a bit out of the way - once people bothered to go and see the car it was snapped up.

Last time I have details of this car being up for sale was in March 2013 @ 65,000 miles at James Paul in West Sussex

Looking at the colour and then the Engine bay, I reckon it's Perry's. :poke:
Well, according to the ad it's the only red Alpina RS in the country.... must go and look in the garage in case I'm delusional.....

6,000 miles in two and a half years then. He didnt have time to drive it, let alone clean it. What a shame. :(
What price was it offered at back in 2013 Perry ?

In Nov 2012 it was up on PH as a private sale @ £11,750 then appeared on the James Paul website in March 2013 at £12,990 - I don't recall it hanging around that long so, if it was purchased without a trade-in, it probably sold for somewhere between £12,250 & £12,500 depending on how hard the buyer haggled

To me, this means that the current price is probably consistent with a private sale from someone who hasn't noticed the upward trend in prices and is trying to get close to what they paid around 18 months ago...

No lux pack, flimper Alpina does not do it for me ...
what exactly is the lux pack
According to the original spec sheets the Lux pack included Pro Nav, Xenons, Headlamp washers, PDC, Alpina wind deflector, Isofix, MFSW, Cruise, Bluetooth, CD Changer, Alpina leather dash and door trims, Alpina Dynamic 19" wheels

But, for the UK cars, the 19" wheels, leather dash and door trims were standard for all cars, so you didn't get as much for the cost of the Lux pack as our continental cousins. Then, in June 2005, Alpina increased the standard equipment of the UK cars to also include the CD Changer, Cruise Control, PDC & MFSW

The easy way to spot that the car has the Lux pack is the Nav system

so no nav means no lux pack which means less re salable value :(

cross this 1 off my list then

Not necessarily, it's quite possible that, as they age, cars with the nav system may be seen as less desirable due to the added complexity and scarcity of spare parts - IMO, this would also apply to the ///M cars

It might kill PVR if he has to start admitting that flimper-spec cars are more desirable...

If it was only the Nav it wouldn't bother me, but some of those other options are pretty desirable.
