Firstly hi to everyone

The boring bit
After months of trying to decide on a car to replace my MX5 and after looking at TT's , Boxsters , SLK's, Mini Cooper s and even a Skyline 350GT I had finally decided to go down the sensible route and get a 3 series convertible .
I decided to go for a 330 and whatever else it was definitly not going to be silver as I hate silver cars
I had never even thought about a Z4

I had looked at a few 330 convertibles locally but it had been raining so couldn't have a proper play so waited for a decent day .That day came and I set off eagerly to decide which of the 2 cars in a local dealer I was going to have. On the way I went past another garage that had an assortment of convertibles outside, Z3 , Z3M, 320, Merc CLK, Volvo C70 and a silver Z4 3.0SE so I stopped for a quick look
After looking at the other cars and discounting the 320 as not being powerfull enough and the merc and volvo as too boring I asked about the Z4 and was told "that is the best value Z4 on the internet" with all the extras on it,and liking the thought of a good deal I thought I'd have a test drive just for the fun of it .
I Went home and checked prices of similar cars and it was indeed a very good price being cheaper than similar cars witout the exras

The wife came home from work and I had arranged to take her look at the 330's again but on the way I took her to see my new find .
On to the 330's and eager to drive one I got the keys off the salesman, started the car, put the roof down and then we just sat there and looked at each other. Without even going for a drive we agreed that the 330 felt like the QE2 compared to the Z4 and if I bought one I would quickly regret it, also I did not need a 4 seater as my car is a toy so we gave the keys back to the puzzled salesman and went back to put a deposit on the Z4
It was only after doing the deal that I looked closely at other Z4's and realised how different this one looked with the wheels, body kit and lights

After 2 weeks of ownership I can honestly say that I have never been so excited about owning any other car (and i've had a few) and it looks better day by day. Also I haven't seen another Z4 on the road unlike all the other cars I had thought about

The only downside is that the handling on local roads at anything over legal speeds is frightening compared to the MX5 but that will help me keep my licence and save on fuel (might try changing the tyres as the rears are an odd pair)

Regards
A 50 year old teenager

You'll be pleased to know you've bought a car from a forum member. Can't remember his username though.

Welcome to the forum... :driving:
About the tires...
Are they runflats as that could be the cause of the handling problem.

Welcome to the forum mate. Looks like a lovely car! Any interior pics?

Just a thought is that not a alpina Z :?

No mate. Looks like an Alpina front bumper with aero side skirts, rear bumper and spoiler.

Thanks  i'm happy to be educated

Congratulations on your purchase. Looks like a few quid has been thrown at it over the years. In case you weren't aware, the headlights are after market jobbies.

Hi & Welcome

The handling could be down to run flat tyres, makes it skitty and tram lining, if it has them, ditch them for non rfts, the difference is huge
