Hi all ,
What’s your views ??
A superb race in store ?
Will verstapen crash / drive a superb race
Will Hamilton prove his capabilities?
Will bottas prove his worth as rear guard / or not
I for one can’t wait

Debate open !!

We will see. Max has the most to prove and will take greater risks. That should make him the fastest car on circuit. From the reaction of his dad yesterday though, he may now be deaf.

Judging by the three Formula 2 races this is a tricky track if you are 'in the pack'. Safety cars in all races and two red flags today. It will be an exciting race for sure. Will they keep it clean, I am not so sure. A little dirty is OK, isn't it? Let's hope there are no injuries.

Yes I agree, bit of a dirty fight makes for great viewing in my opinion , good tidy fighting , I do hope no one gets taken out tho , would spoil the spectacle for sure

It would be in Max's interest to take Lewis out, if he can't get past him. :o Not that any driver ever does that on purpose.

Awful track, that wasn’t a race and I can’t see any future races being any better… more suited to touring car vehicles I think.

Who thinks Mad Max tried to take Lewis out...?

Not the first time is it. Max is going to cause someone serious injury if he continues like this

You shall not pass

Max showed some great driving, but also some of the worst I have ever seen, I agree with sp3ctre about the track, it is too fast for the width and sightlines, I think there will be safety cars and red flags at this track every year it is used, that is not racing.

… and in terms of the championship, you have to say Lewis has it to lose now… can’t stand the guy but he is more mature and better under pressure… two qualities you need in a deciding race.

I never want to watch another race on that track. Entertaining yes. but a total farce as an F1 race.

Both drivers on message at the end. Wish we could be in on the debriefs.

Same could be said for a number of F1 tracks where it’s impossible to overtake or the race is won in the pits.

Yeah, although they are never going to get rid of Monaco because of the history. It’s one thing having an inherited track like that, but to design something new that simply doesn’t work is something else.

That race was a disgrace the circuit is Mickey Mouse at best and as for Verstappen, Santa needs to take his Super Licence back to the joke shop from whence it came. The nasty little b@sterd might like to take up boxing as a profession ( at least he'd get a good slap now and again)
Even Whinger Spice looked embarrassed during the after race interview

Further 10s Penalty handed to Verstappen for 'braking suddenly (69bar) and significantly resulting in a 2.4g deceleration'.

Absolute arse.

Notwithstanding that yes in general, agree with other comments regarding the track - bit of a joke really. I bet it was fun to get a qually lap on but doubt any of the drivers will have enjoyed actually racing on it due to the inherent dangers of blind high speed corners and lack of space for proper overtaking.

Set up for a hell of a finale next week though - I just hope that petulant child in the Red Bull doesn't do anything stupid (again) and ruin the prospect of a great final race.

Rear guard? He's more like one of those automatic sliding doors
must be a trait of merc drivers , open door policy , hammy left door wide open for Verstappen :poke:
Just to prove that he could pass him later on. :poke:

If Hamilton had overtaken, there would not have been a problem, but he decided he was not going to 'take the place back' at that point because it would mean that Verstappen would get DRS and pass him again more easily. So Hamilton decided I will only take back the place where I want to and certainly not approaching a DRS zone. I don't doubt that Verstappen's braking was to slow more before the DRS zone because Hamilton was not going to pass him and was probably thinking, 'well pass me, won't you' (some expletives might be missing). Hamilton knew that Verstappen would have to give the place back regardless of whether he got team orders. These guys have been racing since their ages were in single figures and know the rules. Hamilton was close to collapsing at the end of the race and was hurried away and out of sight by his trainer. A similar thing happened when he had Covid. Maybe this is a younger man's sport.
