A strange one - why is insurance cheaper for the Z4MC than the Z4C ?

Looking at getting the Z4C or the Z4MC, which I will have no NCB so run a few comparisons for the two and the Z4M is actually cheaper to insure than the Z4C ! Not quite sure why, I re ran the quotes on two other Z4C and Z4M and same result. Must be a first where a runing cost is actually cheaper on the faster version

Probably down to production numbers, value, ownership demographic and claim data.

3.0si is cheaper to buy and run, and was built in greater numbers, hence there is likely a younger ownership demographic, and consequently probably statistically more accidents.

The answer is extremely simple. The statistics say that one is a lower risk than the other.
The days of premiums having anything to do with insurance 'grouping' are gone.

I found the same after I replaced my 3.0Si with an M, which was a nice surprise. Although the little I saved didn't go far towards easing the pain of the Road Tax!

Ain't that the truth! Road tax is frankly a joke now

Not in my case . My 3.0 si and Z4M are both modified but the Z4M is much more expensive . Possibly down to the supercharger :) Road tax on the M is just a p**s take
