A sad confession... one of two, the other I'm keeping secret

It started last year, when I had to tempoarily borrow my mum's Polo. It was such a gutless wonder with only 18k on an 11 year old car that I nicknamed it 'Wheezy' while waiting for the A3.

When the A3 arrived, got a name of 'Sharky'...

Z4 arrived, got the name of 'Growler' (yep I know it's other connotations)... though seems apt as does attract them

Is anyone else this sad???

Wheezy's up for sale on Ebay if anyone's interested in a supa reliable motor, not so Wheezy anymore after been given a run, though have first left the price on the high side as has been nowhere before I got my hands on it to use as a commute car... though if you're interested in haggling am always open to having my arm twisted for cash , J

I would have had that when I was looking for the Polo. The same model as the one I bought and a great runabout without a doubt.

What sort of MPG do you get out of this?

Which one ...Wheezy, Sharky, Growler or eye candy?

Wheezy - anything between 350-400 miles before it touches the red using V power petrol (45 litres)
Sharky - anything between 425 & 550 miles before the fuel light comes on with V-power diesel (55 litres)
Growler - between 275 & 300 miles before the fuel light comes on with V-power petrol (55 litres)

Eye candy... that stays between me & the girlie

Haha good point!! I was talking about Wheezy :)

I may be looking for a runabout in the coming weeks, so I'll keep an eye on this

Haven't named my zed, somehow i just can't seem to get the feeling that it has a personality which holds a name. My series IIa landy is called Lucy, was a condition of having her that the name was kept, the key is on an old dogs tag with Lucy on it and it was considered bad luck to change her name so lucy she is and she is a right character.

Well, my windows have a mind of their own... Sometimes open a tad when opening the door, sometimes halfway, sometimes all the way down... never got a clue what it's gonna do. Otherwise been a gem from the day I drove home...

Z4MR = Serendipity
Corrado VR6 = Sloane (sorely missed)
R5 GT Turbo = Stephanie
Suzuki RGV250N = Sapphire
205 1.6 GTi = Sophie (1st car :))

Oddly enough our 330 Coupe escaped being named, probably as it's the Mrs :)

I find this all slightly weird.....and a bit scary.

Growler just reminds me of Lorraine Kelly on Bo'Select lol.

... my girlie didn't know the urban meaning till she saw them discuss it on TopGear... You've got no idea of the fun I've privately had at her expense, but despite being found out, the name's stuck.

Bit like many of those in the USA not understanding word B@ll@cks that some ex-pat had on his Rolls Royce in Florida a number of years back... DVLA even took back BO11 OCZ off some guy in the UK on his landie... but that Lorraine Kelly... lol

They do appear wising up to bollox, but they appear to have no idea what knackers are, nor gnats cock or midges chuff as terms of measurement which leaves them floundering
