You can take the boy out of Spalding........
Not from Spalding, I'm from the Home Counties.

I disagree. The Type R is pure class (it just looks silly). One of the very few proper modern driver's cars left. They are amazing pieces of engineering and machinery. And they were built in Swindon, so being British gives them more class.sars said:You spent good money on a Civic Type R, whilst it might be an entertaining drive, it's certainly not a great advertisement for one's class or good taste

agree … it’s more difficult than I thought, to find the colour combination with the right amount of packs .Argyll Andy said:Excellent news, colour and spec important.
What’s maybe not so good, but hopefully helpful, is that a lot of these cars are very poorly spec’d. I was given 2 reasons, customers spec’d cars then pulled out of the deal at a point where the dealership is committed to taking/buying the car so the dealer was allowed to pull all packs bar 1, they normally left the comfort pack as it’s the cheapest. Second was that a lot of these cars were leased and any additional packs had to be paid up front.
This is the explanation I was given when originally looking for a pre-reg car and the specs available on the ones for sale at that time were very poor.
Anyway glad you like it and hopefully what you’re looking for will be available![]()
Out of interest, what’s your preferred colour?
sars said:Glad you enjoyed it, if you go into a test drive with a some negativity, whatever the car is you won't like it. If you're looking forward to the drive or have an open mind the G29 will win you over and the M40i just puts a big grin on your face with all that shove. Big grin achieved

I get where you are coming from. You are where I was around 2 years ago. I wanted a blue or red car with an ivory interior. I had spreadsheets of options, I was adding weighting to option combinations. But eventually I chucked all that away and distilled it to I want a wind deflector, heated steering wheel and HUD, so Tech and Comfort packs. And then I saw a white car with magma interior. I never wanted a white car, but it looked so damn fine, and then the price moved down by 7%. I had it on my drive 48 hours later !Dave 2 dogs said:agree … it’s more difficult than I thought, to find the colour combination with the right amount of packs .Argyll Andy said:Excellent news, colour and spec important.

I should have said ( the wrong interior colour for me )
I looked at one in red ( with black interior) I’d much prefer ivory, or red , if it’s a red car … exterior colour….i can’t honestly make up my mind between red or blue… think they are both stunning… so , when the time comes, it will be all about which one of those colours comes up with the most toys … I’m in no hurry, probably keeping the e89 until spring /summer , have to set a few personal things in motion first… half the fun is the buildup…. Last week there was a little doubt looming, having driven one, although not in ideal situation…I’m completely hooked … it just feels ( right )
skyscraper grey is a nice colourAndyG2940 said:I went for magma when speccing mine. Personally love it again skyscraper grey. I’ve found the grey really shows off the shape due to all the shadows it creates. I only added comfort pack as I don't really listen to music anymore. The only thing I wish I’d specced was the reverse camera. For some reason I struggle to park it straight.
I’m doing 20k a year as a daily drive and it’s been perfect and never tiresome.
Enjoy the journey. There amazing cars.
right now, if I had the option and funds, I’d go red paint metallic, red seats with shadowline plus and a few more on packs if they were availableNanu said:Red obviously, not biased in any way of course

My friend has an m4 in that colour
How does it come up when it’s waxed ? Probably opened a can of worms here, I know a lot of people have gone for ceramic coating, but I enjoy detailing my car just as much as driving it … could you pop up a picture of the seats with that colour paint combo please?
I don’t think I would be in a position to order new , so don’t have the option of choosing my own palette… but I’d love to see what that looks like
