When I decided to move up from my e85 to an e89
STUARTT very kindly met up with me , showed me around he’s car , and took me out for a quick spin in it . So I could get a feel for how it felt, even from the passenger side. I know I wanted one asap. I’m still in love with my e89 , but the G29 keeps nipping at my thoughts and heart . I’m wondering if I’m doing the right thing by selling my e89 …. Is it possible that someone locally in Essex , with a G29 M40i would be willing to meet up somewhere, so I could have a decent look around it ? And maybe a quick run out as a passenger? I’d love to know for sure I’m doing the right thing, before mine goes up for sale… hopefully someone local would be willing to help, as STUARTT did … thanks in advance

Sorry that I can't help, I would gladly take you out for a run in mine. Having lived in it for two years, nine months and 44,000 miles I can honestly say that it is a very good car to own and come November 2025 I shall be keeping it as there is nothing else out there that grabs my attention. I would say that it is almost the perfect practical sportscar. The only negative for me is steering feel which could be a better.

Having lived in it for two years, nine months and 44,000 miles I can honestly say that it is a very good car to own and come November 2025 I shall be keeping it as there is nothing else out there that grabs my attention. I would say that it is almost the perfect practical sportscar. The only negative for me is steering feel which could be a better.

Would just be nice to tick the box BEFORE I sold my e89 , I’m pretty sure I’m going to love it … I bloody hope so , because, like you, there’s nothing else that really turns my head …so , no plan B . Love my e89 , but time to scratch that itch I think

Just pop into your local dealer and ask for a test drive. I had a M30i for a couple of hours and a couple of weeks ago when mine was in for it's MOT they loaned me a M40i for the day.

Mine is going in for a paint job on the passenger door under warranty on Friday and will be in for a week. I did ask for the M40i again but suspect I will end up with a Mini.

I'd be interested in your opinion as I'm having the exact same thoughts.
The change to auto from manual also a concern. I know you can put it in a 'manual mode', which has allayed my fears a bit

Aren't most G29s auto? With only the one available in manual

I believe most if not all are Auto, but if my understanding is correct, they can be put in manual mode (m/s) and gears changed by the steering wheel paddles or pushing the gear selector.
Well at least I hope that's correct

Already out. One in BMW Sheffield and Llyods in Cockermouth that I know of. Neither cheap
