a reason not to have a one touch roof?

Before I start I don't have a one touch roof but this would probably be worse if I did!

Just been round the other half house. Driving in the constant rain with the odd heavy shower. Parked up and went in about 9ish and walked out (in the rain) to drive home at half 11. To see my roof down!

Inside of my car soaked. So quickly grabbed some towels and died it up. Luckily its leather so hopefully should all be cleaned up and Didnt take too long.

No idea how long it had been sat there though. Must have lent on the key in my pocket and the good has opened.

Live and learn....

Ah yes I did that before too, left my roof half-open all night, luckily no rain. Since then I always keep my keys out of my pockets. Hopefully it will all dry out with no hassle.

How on earth did you manage that? Before the one touch module, I had to be about a metre from the car and press the key continually to open the roof so no idea how you could possibly do that from a distance ...

I think your biggest risk is going to be with one of the electronic modules located in the centre console. I can't remember which one it is, might be the air bag module, but it is right beneath the joint at the back of the console. Apparently water rolls down the front of the oddments door and through the joint onto the module which by all accounts doesn't like being wet. If I can find a link I'll post it.

Hope that you get lucky and are not affected.

We don't have that module in the UK, is a US side module only.

Should have bought an 03 roadster, holding the unlock button simply unlocks the car... No roof down.

I have the gap tech module now, but what's the chance of hitting the right button 3 times in a row? Pretty low me thinks 8)

I'm normally the same so no idea!

Apologies for the typos in my first message. It was typed on my phone.

Ive a 56 Plate Roadster and yes the roof opens if you hold the button on the fob down, but to close it i have to turn the key anticlockwise and hold it in the lock outside the car. Should it close from the key fob?

Is it a big job or expensive to get a one touch open and close module installed?

I have an '03 roadster and had my local independant mess about with the settings and can now open the roof by holding down the unlock button. I've since brought the gaptech module but held off fitting it as looking to upgrade to a Z4M roadster so saving it for that. I think the stealer can also activate this for you but imagine you'd need to remortgage...
