A racist incident, your thoughts....

I think the guy has learnt his lesson, so I would go back and make sure he doesn't lose his job over it.

Can someone who's Indian comment on exdos's question. I'm also curious to know what you think?

re: exdos' questions on the caste system, it is a prejudice based on a perceived social hierarchy based on bloodline or background - so yes, I think calling it 'social racism' is quite apt. In those countries where it is apparently 'tolerated', like racism it's totally down to ignorance and bigotry. As far as I know using the caste system as a means of discrimination is illegal in India but sadly it still goes on and is rather widespread.

Am I correct to say that the Dalits (untouchables) still exist and remain treated as such on the sub continent?
