a post for those with affectionate eye for a coupe

Well I just got the headlights from a destroyed red ///m roadster so they have just got rarer :D

And THAT makes me want to cry

Perhaps I could build my red ///M bit by bit :D

I know to 3 other Coupes near me, a Carbon Black, Silver Grey and Montego Blue, only one in Monaco Blue though ;)

Like Radar and his Jeep in MASH :)

Roadster S = 167 RHD total built. Now that's exclusive :)

And if that white one had been the one, I could've ended up with #69. I am such a tart

Just found it on another thread - 588 M Coupes and 617 M Roadsters.

I looked on the "how many left" website the other day and there are only 1,006 currently taxed (no split between Coupe and Roadster available).

is the HML.com website correct because if so they indicate only 128 SI coupe/autos currently taxed in uk ? :o total non M coupes around 400 ! so way rarer than the M,s ? thought so , , ,
we got some precious metal :D

You need to look through the other classifications - they are not all classified correctly. A lot are just described as 3.0 Sport or 3.0Si IIRC.

The coupe is only listed as 3.0si - either auto or manual - and according to how many left there are only about 400 left.

I asked the chap who put the website together about the low numbers and this was his response:

"There's a good chance that some of the names have got muddled up. The stats are categorised by the model listed on the V5 for the car, which in turn will have come from the registration paperwork filled out by the original dealership that sold the car (the dealership usually being the weakest link in the chain). In the last couple of years, I believe the process has been automated, so there's fewer errors, but for slightly older cars you can bet there's a good few inconsistencies here and there."

I can imagine just BMW Z4 being written on the registration paperwork - would be interesting to know for sure though. The only other option is that around 50% of Z4 coupe's have been written off or sent abroad!

Saw a 3.0si in black today on southsea sea front  also there's a montego blue in my work carpark at gatwick

I never saw any for months before I got mine :driving:

did the 640 mile return trip today including peak time on the M25 5/6pm & not a single coupe out there for me to pass a whistful moment :|
although we did spot a white lambo convertible/a red ferrari california & a bright orange mclaren (with 2 brake calipers on 1 wheel ) which trundled alongside us in our transit for some 20 mins , , awesome noise & made a lotus elise in front look like a supermarket trolley :)
home now & have been in garage for a sit in the Zed , , , ,
all's well that end's well

You all seem rather disappointed you don't see a lot of these on the road, I for one like that to my friends I have the only coupe about!

I've had the car 3 months and have seen 2/3 coupes, brilliant....

not disappointed , ,i revel in its rarity & was one of the reasons i bought one but just like to spot them when i'm away from mine , ,
up to know had no luck whatsoever  other than 1 for sale at local BMW dealers , ,which was there less than a week

A chap at work has bought a very nice coupe. As I know him I'm sure he won't mind me leaving a tin opener on it

Just need to get him to sign up on here

The roadster is a pretty common sight in Warsaw, but so far I have spotted only three coupes. E89 is also popular, but - strangely enough - in feminine colours and driven by ladies.

In contrary, in cracow most popular z4 should be e89 - I see at least one almost every day, mostly not s35i
As for e85/86 an 86 is owned by a lady that lives like 500m from my house, so I see it rather often.
E85 is getting more and more popular, mostly they are those weaker versions not 3.0 or /M's

I had never seen a coupe around my area only the roadsters. Then the other day when I collected mine & I was on the drive home I get stuck at traffic lights & somebody pulls up alongside me in a white coupe!

I dont think I had seen a coupe before I bought mine a few months ago.

Since then I have seen 4 within 2 miles of home - in the rural villages of Cheshire. Anyone on here?

Black 09 northwhich
Silver 08 hartford
Black 07 m winsford
And a blue 08 Se in cuddlington

Mid Cheshire must be a Z4c hotbed.

Saturday night I saw another 1, so thats 2 in the space of 5 days of getting mine. This car is getting far too common might have to trade it in

not that many in West Yorksire. Only ever seen 4 other coupes in the last couple of years. Pleny of roadsters though not seen many m's
