On Saturday, I ordered new wheels for the Z.
On Sunday, I ordered new tires for those new wheels from TireRack.

They came in today... Talk about fasst shipping...

Cool... <blatant plug> and if anyone wants to order via the link at the top of the page we'd very much appreciate it... every little helps</blatant plug> ;)

There service is excellent and shipping is often just 1 or 2 days.
So....what did you get??

I did use the link at the top......

Since I do drive mine in the cold, but not on Snow, I was going to get the Kumho Ecsta ASX. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... =Ecsta+ASX

I had looked at the General UHP's but discounted them....

But Rick's comments made me reevaluate my thought process and after another two weeks of research, I bought the UHP's.

Now, sitting in my garage, I REALLY like the look of them.

You will naturally post up pictures when you get them installed and let us know how you like them....

Just kidding. Enjoy them!

Always good to hear about great service. I have to say US companies impress me a lot more than the excuses we get here in the UK. For example, I order a lot of my DVDs from HiDefDVD.com in the US (since HD-DVDs and Blu-Rays are about 50-60% of the price than they are over here!) and I can place an order on a Thursday evening and have the DVDs arrive at my house on the Monday morning. It astounds me how quick they turn up, when it takes most UK DVD mail/internet order companies nearly a week to do the same!

Back on the subject of tyres though, since Tirerack don't deal in the UK, I hope it's ok to post this up. I recently found an excellent source for Michelin PS2 tyres in the UK. Best price I've found anywhere so far - here (Top Tread Tyres). The price is obviously delivered only, but most fitters will charge about £10 a wheel to fit, valve and balance.

I did look at the PS2's but at $200+ a tire they cost as much as the tires I put on my truck and those last about three years or so.

Plus at $83.00 a tire for the UHP's, they are CHEAP.. almost throwaways....

I really wanted to get the 235/40 R18's but I am not sure of the fitment. I will be able to tell better once I get the new 225/40's installed. Maybe next time...for the 235's

I also found a local tire place that has a Hunter 9712 roadforce balancer that only charges $13.00 a tire for mounting/balancing...including weights....

X2 on the Generals. I figure that if they really ended up sucking, then I wouldn't feel guilty replacing them (since they're so inexpensive).

So... what wheels did you end up getting?

You will find out when I post the pictures...

Bought them from a little old lady from San Monica.. who only drove them on Sundays.....
