A Moment of Exquisite Pleasure

Forgive the giddy excitement but one short month after joining this forum and thanks in no small measure to the acres of expert opinion it contains, today I found and purchased the Z4 of my dreams.

Armed with the aforementioned insight of forum members and with the sage advice of one member ringing in my ears.... travel any distance to find what you want... I have seen a lot of Z4s most sadly overpriced and under cared for

Its been a roller coaster ride, just when I thought I had nailed all the potential known troublespots i.e. Roof motor, coil springs, window regulator, water pump and zoned onto the year and model I should go for, delving deeper up pops HVA rattling on the N52 engine(2006-2009) OMG..... obviously if you hear it walk away but what if its yet to manifest??

My solution was to go for the classic M54 encased within an immaculate 3.0 SE with full provenance and more sheer grunt than I could ever legally use.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Here's hoping my first posts won't be on ''I've just discovered this problem'' and ''where do I get a HPFP from''

Glad you've found one. Sure you first posts will be more about your mods! And if you've been here a month you should know better - where are the pics???

Well done mate!

Some more information would be nice? Colour, spec, wheels etc?

Oh, it will only be a matter of time before people start pestering you for pictures. I have more restraint personally

Congratulations... Everyone is being very polite, but really

:worthless:

Thanks everyone for your welcome and encouragement.
I will post some pics when and if it stops raining!!!! :(
After the joy of purchase came the inevitable moments of neurosis!
Every little unfamiliar rumble and rattle being an apparent harbinger of mechanical disaster thankful all have transpired to be perfectly normal.
Just shows how blunted the senses become when you spend to long cocooned in over refined double glazed automatic transmission modern motors.
Ahhh the joy of hearing the exhaust note and the roar of fat tyres on tarmac. :D
The previous owner had fitted brand new 19 inches 3DSM alloys and tyres and the Eibach Pro Kit suspension springs all round.
They really compliment the cars purposeful look IMO and when the sun emerges once again and i can take some pics you can judge for yourselves.
I am slightly alarmed at the way I have started to develop and intense interest in car care, detailing and polishing websites since becoming an owner is this normal?

Well done, will be nice to see your Z, as far as the polishing/detailing worry, be very afraid, it will get you

The Sun emerged today after weeks of rain so here is my new pride and joy :D

I searched long and hard to find a car in such immaculate condition with ultra low mileage for her age and impeccable provenance.
I have never encountered a power plant with such silky sweet smoothness and pure grunt as the M54B30 in this baby Shell V power is the least I can do to express my gratitude!
