A Leak!

Earlier in the week I thought the windows hadn't closed properly as water was coming into the car. I opened and closed it and still it dribbled in. I cleaned the edge of the window and the seals and thought that was it. Yesterday it leaked again :(

Water seems to be coming in around the tweeter housing on the drivers side and running down the door. It's clearly got onto the door card as the leather has lifted and left what looks like a blister

Fortunately AUC seems well prepared. I called Dick Lovett and nothing was a problem except they want the car for two days! Apparently this is to test it for leaks, strip everything out, dry it and replace anything damaged. All covered under warranty but still a PITA. I hope this doesn't turn into a saga...

Probably been there since she was built and it's never shown up before because she's never been allowed out to play in the rain

No, she leads a normal zed life now. Sat outside the house in the rain multiple times. Maybe I've never noticed as its dried out before I've driven her again

Are you sure it's rain, and she's not crying over the loss of her garage queen status...

 :D

Mainly because I'm too fecking lazy to drive the mile to the garage I have access to and walk back. I think I'll do this now though

Use an old bike and cycle to & fro - when you're out in Immie, the bike stays in the garage so it won't go walkies.. (or should that be cyclies...?)

You know that's not a bad idea... :)

Keep that up and it might be Stu that's calling you something very rude....

Mine leaks there too.

Was really bad when I first got it. Played with all the seals and cleaned with rubber cleaner.

Doesn't do it all the time now. Only seems to be when it's really heavy.

im surprised BMW will cover this (usually excludes seals etc) - but you say AUC and not extended warranty?

Tuesday was particularly wet - not surprised it showed up. Perhaps it's just a seal that has perished, or is damaged. That whole triangular bit behind the tweeter is quite delicate. I have had it all off mine to replace it and it tore as I was removing it - simply aged. Anyway, if they are fixing it then that's ace
