Bloody hell ! You can get some very decent metal for 10k in UK ! Prices are quite a bit higher, spec for spec cars, in continental europe.
My vote goes to Alfa Brera Spyder, 3.2 of course !

I once drove a Honda S2000 [cough] great fun if you enjoy wringing a cars neck to get the best out of it. :driving:

yes, that's "correct" Honda :))) RWD forever!!!
but my friends drove her 600 miles in a row and very bad headache from the sound of the exhaust system

I think S2000 would be a brilliant track car or B road weapon as you really have to wring it's neck out to extract all of its performance which sure as hell is fun ! How satisfying it would be bouncing off the rev limiter in a 30mph London street is different matter.

I loved my type r. Loved wringing its neck, loved the way it sounded like a sports bike. It was harsh as he'll though and very different from the lardy comfort of even the Z.

I like the idea of an S2000 as a fun car but I do have to admit that I find the thought of 200bhp, low weight, RWD and zero driver aids a bit scary. The video of best crashes from the ring last year featured a worrying number of S2000s.

I had an s2000.

It was great fun to drive enthusiastically. But it has no TC and in the wet with the vteck kicking in can be a handful, not the best DD... Under 6k has hardly any torque so most turbo diesels will leave you at the lights

I drove an S2000 and was a little underwhelmed.

It's hoontastic for driving like a hooligan. But for the other 98% of the time you drive it, its lack of torque is a little, well, disappointing.

For 10k the Z4 3.0 is a cracking car. However, you can pick up E46 M3 (high ish miles) for sub £10k now.

+1 looked at a few 986s before the Z, 987s were still over 10k when I got the Z in feb this year, still would love one

Bought an 05 987 last month with 60k miles, full history, full cocoa leather, £9,900. so the prices are coming down :)

Ok so what would you get if you had to have a new car? Budget is 10K must NOT be a convertible! And NOT a Z4

Z3M Coupe :P although you'd have to hunt to find a good one for under 10K, there are a couple for sale at the moment with the S50 engine

In being detailed at the moment, then I'll take a pic...... :D

I have one of those in my garage! Very nice too but not a sports car more of a cruiser.

If I had to have only one 'sports car' for £10k I'd build another MGB v8 roadster. (built two to date, quite easy but parts are getting harder to source). Cheap to run, insureance under £100, free tax, 250bhp available with about 900kg to move, can even be made to handle reasonably well for an old car.
