Hey everyone - I would like to use my first post to say hi and at the same time gather some of your thoughts!(As I am a complete rookie at this I hope I have posted this correctly and in the right place!)

Recently purchased a 2.5i Sliver Grey Roadster and have loved every minute of ownership!! I have recently changed the front to grills to all black and have been more than pleased with the result, matching the black infill of the headlights and front bumper, however what are the general thoughts on continuing the black theme over the rest of the car??

1 – Complete set of real carbon badges – there is a lot posted on here about these but I can’t decide whether they would look a bit odd on the silver grey and instead go for a blue carbon fibre set as a twist?

2 – Smoked rear lights?

3 – Tinting the windows maybe? – again have seen a lot on hear already, but on a roadster is it not worth it?

4 – Rims toning down perhaps to a dark gun metal grey??

Any thoughts or opinions on processes, prices, experiences etc would be most appreciated!!

welcome!!

iv just changed my grilles and it looks nice (chrome and black for sale! pm me sensible offers PLUG)

im wanting carbon badges too but you have to watch you dont go overboard with the black. i think smoked rears will look a bit ASDA car park maybe?

I've put the black/white carbon badges throughout the car on a Sterling Grey and they look great.

Welcome!

1. I'm not a fan of the carbon badges.

2. Smoked rear lights look good if not too dark IMO.

3. Tinted windows on a roadster? My windows are rarely closed so I'd never do it. IMO it does't look good against the black fabric hood/roof.

4. I like the dark rims.

Thanks guys for your quick reply’s  its good hear different thoughts before jumping straight into an idea only to waste time and regret it :headbang:

Agreed Rudd_2002 and rabman5 i think the tails done lightly could be quite nice but too dark and they could look a little bit like a chavtastic racer!?! IMO

gannet noted just seen it will delete until resized me thinks :) !!

im going for dark grey rims too. ive not seen custom elipsoids yet but the guys here who have refurbed their 108's make them look good, so im going to use the guide on the forum and have a go!

Welcome to the forum

In my opinion tinting the rear lights is a no.
Carbon fibre badges are a yes. I have them on black and they look fantastic, and they look just as good on grey.
Window tints i'm unsure. I have them, but then again i have a black Coupe. Tints look good on grey, but maybe not a roadster.
And gun metal rims are a yes.

:)

Hi & Welcome to the club.

I have a Sterling Grey roadster with Carbon Badges and IMO they look far better than the OEM blue & white, as for smoking the rear lights are you pre or post facelift as there are some different alternatives are out there, leave the heavily smoked lights to the chav's.

thanks again everybody

so it looks like im getting my wheels done then :) Klarky - seen, the 108' and they do look good, let me know how you get on with yours?!

lucy and RichardG i think you guys are right for what its worth i can definitely give the carbon badges a try i think they will look good! and to answer your question Richard im a 58 plate so post facelift, and defiantly not going dark at all if i do decide to do them as your completely right. :)
