A Grand Day Out in Wales

Had an absolutely fabulous days driving with some good forum friends in Central, West and North Wales today. Glorious weather, 200 miles of great roads which we often had all to ourselves and a very enjoyable picnic lunch en-route. Just a perfect day out :D

Ironic it probably would of been the day of the Welsh run of the last few years albeit a smaller group for obvious reasons but what a great day out.

Thanks for organising Si, fabulous route, fabulous weather, great company and a picnic in a great spot to boot. Nice to see some forum friends and catch up. :driving: :thumbsup:

Looks a great day out,I thought I new most of the scenic spots in N Wales,some you posted I had not seen before :thumbsup:

I'm booked in for a few days tour in North Wales with a group of mates soon - I hope I get weather like that!

Don't know if you have your routes planned but if you can incorporate this section you won't be disappointed. 39 miles of driving pleasure. I prefer it driving to ffestiniog as the end point.

The trip has been organised by a mate of a mate who has done all of the route for us, but I'll keep a look out for that road.

Are you guys not planning on doing another Wales meet this year, When restrictions ease and allow, Orr is it going to be kept to a small select group?
Would love to join you on your next one :driving:

Hi Craig. Unfortunately for various reasons (personal, logistical and Covid related) we're not organising a big run and possibly not venturing over the Welsh border again this year. We will give it some serious consideration later in the year with a possible view to having a big N.Wales run or even a whole weekend in April/May '22. Watch this space :thumbsup:

If your staying in Bangor this is a cracking route. Plenty of scenic places to stop and great driving roads.

Stunning photos of a great day out I’d love to have been there ! We saw all four seasons in one day in South Wales yesterday, mostly winter :(

Or for just pure unadulterated 'driving pleasure' then take the B4391 east from Ffestiniog for 8 miles to its intersection with the A4212. Turn around in the very handy lay-by and do it all in the opposite direction :D Turn around, repeat....ad infinitum :thumbsup:
Surely one of the finest roads in the UK ? :driving:
