As there have been a good few "wanted" posts just lately for Si coupes here's a good article to get a grounding on what you are buying . Pretty sure its been linked on forum before but always worth a read even for owners who may not have done so already .

Thanks for that Mr wilks.

Good article for fans of the coupe. The roadster gets a bit of a kicking though; I'm into my 4th month with the hard top but can't wait for spring and top down motoring, can't beat it :driving:

Read this before but a good share. Most of it is very true although I’m happy with the lowering on mine.

It does remind me though that a LSD has to be on the list of things to do...probably one of those ‘things to do when I’m flush’ though. ;)

Some fine points and also some plain old bull sh#t in there.. Always good to read about Zeds though. :D

The statement that the coupe is twice as stiff as the roadster, is that made up?
I can imagine it is stiffer but twice as much sound a bit of bull!

And the reason not to lower is because of bump stops! Not sure of the logic in that one, is it because of the suspension travel is already small and therefore lowering would reduce that and risk the chance of hitting the bump stops?

I personally do think the coupe is nicer looking but that is obviously subjective and the cause of many arguments on here! ( Don't want this thread going that way)

Honestly, the LSD was the best mod I've done - transforms how predictable the car is up to and past the limit. Deffos worth doing, albeit it is an expensive one!!

there are various other websites which confirm this :)

EDIT: Here's another - interesting to see how floppy an E46 chassis is by comparison to the E85 - not far off the same! https://www.germancarforum.com/threads/the-list-torsional-rigidity.12334/

Cheers. So the journalist was telling the truth! :o

Some interesting numbers in the table on the link Ed posted - I wonder if helps contribute to the E46 M3 boot floor issues?

Sadly the list doesn't include the E46 Compact! Mine seems pretty stiff - when I jack it up by the time it is high enough to get a front wheel off easily the back is off the ground as well. :?
