I did Stelvio the year before - it was too busy to enjoy, so wont be rushing back. We try to find routes that aren't the obvious ones, but its not that easy, so any suggestions welcome.

Agreed, I will never go back to the Stelvio as that is too narrow and we even had a walking group on the road last time.

Some of the unknown routes are indeed by far the best ones, as they still have the sweeping bends and might just be between two villages.

I have done the Alps in my 3.0, M and Porsche and they all brought something different. The Porsche is by far the most accomplished car with the active mounts that keep the car completely flat so high corner speed is very easy to achieve. The M is also great to do it with, just a bit more harder work. The 3.0 was on run flats so after that trip they went :D

All manual gearboxes, which you have to have to full enjoy and "taste" the roads.

A friend of mine who was on this road trip, his Father walked over Stelvio, except it was during WWII, he'd escaped from an Italian prisoner of war camp, and was heading for Switzerland - eventually reaching Klosters, where descendants of the family who took him in still live to this day.

Was in Switzerland at the end of August last year and did all the passes.
Fantastic time but all of them very busy.

That looks like a fun trip, with a fantastic S54 soundtrack!

Something I really ought to do.

ps - I have tried to embed the video, but cant work out how using the youtube button

Copy link from YT, write message and where you want to embed it, hit the youtube button, paste the link between youtube and /youtube. Now, in the pasted link, delete the question mark and everything after it, then delete the https://youtu.be/ and you should be left with only the text ZqKakKcuF9A.

Planned work this year is to get the Aero skirts fitted and front and rear bumpers painted all at the same time, and CSL alignment. I may do suspension at some stage.

Fantastic! Loved that! 8)

Did a 6 day roadtrip to the Alps last July. Stopping at Nancy for a night, then 2 nights in Interlaken, driving the Andermatt Loop, one night in Annecy after driving over the Great St Bernard Pass down to Aosta. Then a final night in a Chateau in central France. 1600 miles. Brilliant!
