A few recent shots of the Z...

Hey guys. It's been a while! Been off the forums for some time as work commitments have been high and just not really done a lot to the car...

But had a few bits done over the winter. Some paintwork to tidy up a few stone chips on the front end (and give it a slightly different look with the standard bumper) and the addition of the rear carbon spoiler. Also, the Recaro seats are currently out being retrimmed, and some new harnesses will be added when they return in a couple of weeks.

Here's a few shots after a bit of cleaning the other day though... :)

Was painted matt black when the rest of the bumper was repainted. However it seems rather susceptible to showing stone chips (already starting to look a little tired!), so I might have to look at vinyl instead, or I was thinking of getting someone to make a carbon-fibre overlay for that section. Just need to find someone that can do the job...

Really like the blackouts on the front bumper, the aggressive look suits the car well. Have you considered reducing the height of the side repeaters? Small change but it does help the line flow.

Do you mean recessing them further into the wing? I think I saw that mod a while back and it looked good. Hadn't thought too much about doing it myself though. Might look into it!

This is a mod I will be doing when I find some time. You cut the height of the plastic housing (cylindrical wall) about midpoint, remove the lower section from the base, and then attach the upper section to the base. Reduces overall height approx 50% and function is not affected. There is a DIY posted on one of the forums. When I do this, I will probably change the side roundels to the black and white color pattern.

I almost did this mod when I went with clear lens and the CF roundels. I decided at the time that I did not have access to a what I wanted to get a clean cut on the plastic before rebuilding and had a slew of other mods I wanted to press on with. Might have another look at it now the car is almost finished. If BMW had been slick those could have popped out when in use

My God, they cant manage to make reliable windows that go up and down or airbag lights that work, imagine the cock-up they'd make of fancy pop-out indicators?! LOL

Loved seeing your car yesterday, it really is stunning. 8) Loved the carbon roof

I'd think I'd have a problem with owning white though, I'd need to keep it even cleaner than my black Z, which would be a nightmare with our muck covered roads.
