A few questions from a potential new owner

Hi all.

Ive recently taken a shine to z4 coupes and quite fancy one! For insurance purposes i won't be able to touch one for almost a year yet, which also gives me a chance to save up.

Coming from a classic car background I'm wondering what the lower end of the market is likely to be in 1-2 years time. At the moment 14k seems about minimum for an 06 3.0? Can anyone advise on likely depreciation. My current toy is a TR6 which i intend to buy a better example of by spring, as classics don't depreciate and are cheaper to run this is why i ask about depreciation. Also keeping the TR the z4 would have to be extra.

Love the look of the z4 like a modern gt6 a mate has a e36 m3 cabrio which goes well! Also what does a zed cost to tax?

Just like any other mainstream BMW really. The Z4 is no classic i'm afraid ( :fuelfire: ). Just look at how prices of Z3s then Z4s has dropped over the years.

I'd expect £12k will get you an average used coupe in a year (worst case £14k). They are down to £16 right now.

A sound buy at that sort of money if you get one that's been loved. 8)

Just checked the tax - 245 not too bad.

Looks like a loss of 2k a year ATM then. Guess that will tail off over the next few years.

I think that covers things for now. Time to have a look at insurance threads !
