A few new tweaks... :D

Well I can't seem to leave my car alone for long before something else get's changed...

So this month it's a retrim of the Recaro seats I fitted (which was always the plan in the long term). Gave them to the trimmer (Trim Deluxe, based in Littlehampton) just after Xmas, and picked them up a few weeks back. Fitted them at the weekend, and I think they look fantastic.

The backs were painted in matching Alpine White (when I had the front bumper painted over Xmas), and the seats have been trimmed in black Dynamica (Suede/Alcantara like material), with white diamond-stitched centres, and an embroidered Recaro/Nurburgring logo on the headrests :)

Just trying to get some pictures uploaded from my phone (all I have with me at the moment), but having trouble with the connection at work.... Might have to upload them later.

You've not gone for the full carbon doors, wings, tailgate & bonnet yet then - or are you scared that it'll be blown away :P

Hahaha.. no - i didn't like the look of those parts that went up recently. If it would ever happen, it'd have to be the official BMW Motorsport bodywork, and that's silly money. Better spent towards my 430/LP560/599/GT/<insert exotica here> fund... ;)

Sounds sexy as hell, and based on what I've seen from trim deluxe in the past I bet they are!

However...

This thread is nothing without PICS!!!

Sixspeed,

How does your front bumper cover hold up? I mean from the rock dings and such.

Are they (the dings) more noticeable on the White?

I am shopping for colors right now for my new car..

Finally... they are just crappy phone pics, but you get the idea :)

I'll try and get more detail shots at the weekend if the weather is good!

Seats are fantastic  Sort of thing that should have been an option on the 'M' cars by BMW. Looking good.

Really nice Sixspeed. I love cars modded with a clear purpose, consistency, quality and overall theme in it

Nice touch with the 'ring' on the seat back

Memo, the harnesses are attached to a harness bar (not probably visable in those pics), which I had made up by a local chassis/roll-cage building firm. They removed the B-pillar trim/covers, and then placed a threaded insert in the two holes that the trim clips into. This then allowed a bar to be made up with two end plates which could be bolted into those positions.

The harnesses simple wrap around the bar and then are fixed to the seat mounts lower down.

I'll try and get more pics at the weekend to show it in detail :)

Shipkiller, the white doesn't show up stone chips at all. Well, only the deepest. It's the most "chip" friendly colour I've owned in that respect. In contrast, the black bar I have had painted on the lower section of the bumper is already showing up a fair few chips, probably no more than are actually present on the white sections, but being black they show up a lot worse. I may consider vinyl wrapping it instead, just to keep it looking cleaner, although ideally I want to have a carbon insert/overlay made up to cover that section.

c10jeeper, thanks :) I have a "CSL" like direction for the car, so it's made the decisions fairly straightforward. I want to acheive a bit more of a motorsport/track theme, but still retain some sense of refinement/luxury. The seat trimming idea was inspired by the James Bond Aston Martin DBS interior from Casino Royale.

And then the 'Ring logo just kinda kept with the theme and purpose of the car, and made it a little more unique. :)

Very nice fella...Not sure i could do away with my heated seats! lol I've got PP's in my V6 clio tho and they are cracking seats. Think the 3in Salbets would look better tho! :D

Those seats are LUSH

I assume the 'quilted' effect is purely on the removable 'cushions' so not a huge amount of work? I don't think they'd look as good in champagne with the same effect unfortunately :(

I really need a well paying job, as I've got a list of mods I want to do and no money to do them with :P

Aliv6, the white Schroth harnesses are going to get replaced. I want 3" wide belts on the shoulders, but I really want to keep them white, and I can't find anywhere that will do them to that spec. The alternative is to get black really, but holding out in the hope I'll stumble across somewhere/one that can do them how I want!

mmm-five, quilted effect is just on the cushions, yes. I think it could look good on champagne, with say red or black stitching. I'm sure I've seen it similar on a Ferrari (599 possibly?). Le Mansory did a Bentley GTC with the same pattern as well, i think with white leather and black stitching... very "pimp" but still looked good!
