A few cheeky mods :)

Certainly with the sport button on my car FEELS faster because the throttle response is significantly changed...

I think that this is the key.

it's a acceleratory illusion.

As has been said elsewhere. It will increase throttle response, but wide open throttle will always be wide open throttle. And as such whether the sport button, or sprint booster changes the throttle response the ultimate acceleration will not change as WOT is a fixed variable.

Love this

I'd so love to time 2 runs in my car sport button on and off. As it's an auto there will be no variance in shift points / speed of shift - just mash the pedal to the floor and keep it there. I'd put a lot of money on the times being near as dammit identical.

Wow......so many good questions and a small debate :D i will try to answer them all.......
Well the car seems alot faster and seems to snap into the gears....even my GF who bless her knows nothing said your car is faster, it feels it yes and i reacon 0.5 secs quicker deffo and even the ref needle moves quicker now so for £230 im happy.
As for handbreak....its from good old M-style again, its matchs my OEM gear knob perfectly :)
The RPI scoop doesnt weigh steering more, its just directly linked to the gear box and again its from M-style and cost £130 for me fitted.....all three mods were done in an hour all by M-style, you guys should really be using these more, i cant say how good and the knowledge these guys have, use them and mention Jonny with the silver Zed and you wont be disappointed and i nothing to gain from saying this im just trying to help you guys with your mods
One more thing RE sprint booster chip, the button has three settings, green is max, red middle of the park and off is well....off lol, and yes its like a sport button i guess :D
Thanks for feedback and comments

I call bull sh1t on this jonny............

you don't have a real girl friend!! :poke:

Don't be harsh guys, Johnny is a good driver and keeps up with all the 3.0i guys as well with the 150 hp 2.0i, I read that in the newbie forum. So if he states his car does 0-60 0.5 sec quicker than it used to, must be right. Superstar league. If his ankle can't flex faster than the car revs, than the sprint booster might help him.

Not trying to do it down, it does what it does, a sports button basically.

From their own website:
• Sprint Booster does not increase Horsepower.

• Sprint Booster does not reduce your 0-60mph times.

• Sprint Booster DOES make your car 'FEEL' faster.

• Sprint Booster is not for everyone.

Probs worth it if you don't have a sports button tho....

So a £250 placebo.

I am sure that if the Sport button was an individually selectable option then BMW would have charged a sh1tload more than £250, so if it increases Jonny's driving pleasure then why not ? I'd rather do that than spend £250 on springs that ram my wheels into the arches and make the car look retarded :idunno:

I always have the sport button on when I'm driving for fun.

It may not make the car faster, but the characteristic of the car is changed and makes it a more enjoyable drive  :driving:

Cant see Jonny being too worried by a few less mpg  I think the sport button gives a real eagerness to the car, yess i know it doesnt increase blah blah blah but like Bing says its all about the increase in driving pleasure and the sport button definately increases that. :poke:
Like i said before Jonny welcome to the sport button club :D :D

I know it does, I have one and it does work well. All I was saying was it doesn't make your car faster anymore than a Porsche Engineering sticker does is all which there seemed to be a bit of confusion about ;)

I have just noticed Jonny E is almost a lifer :!: :!: :!: Thats a lot of posts in under 12 months  we need a sport button smiley

well said. if its increased his driving pleasure then that's what counts.

i doubt this mod has made the car faster but there is a distinct possibility it compliments his driving. which in turn has made him faster, (or seem faster whichever).

is that all you can see of the scoop?

You're a Diamond

So... to conclude:

- The other mods look great :D
- The sprint booster chip does f**k all for performance
- The sprint booster costs £230, but doesn't improve performance
- The sprint booster feels faster, like a sports mode button, but doesn't improve 0-60 times

THE END

Except the sport button weights up the steering too.... But this has 3 settings depending how fast you want it to feel.
