Good choice Mikey! I like them so much I have 2 sets! One wet/silver set on Michelin PS5 and I've gone with MRF-ZTR for the grey/dry set.
Looking forward to getting back out there

I secretly prefer arc-8s to ec7s too, I'm just too tight to be able to have two sets of wheels like Tom

Very smart Mikey

I like pretty much all of their stuff, but the arc-8 is perhaps the perfect variant of the CSL style, and we all know about CSLs and their love for these cars! The adavntage they have of being available in an 18" is pretty major, I wouldn't really consider running a 19" which a real CSL is.
Might sound flash to have two sets, but 2kish is a lot less than I've had to pay for being caught out on inappropriate rubber
I'd love to trailer the thing and run cheap non road legal slicks/wets but that is out of the question at the moment sadly.

How are you finding the MRF's out of interest? Did you have AR1's before that IIRC? Seems pretty close between the two but weighing up between the two for this years track stuff.......Cup 2's are good but I feel the sidewalls are a bit soft, too much wear on the front shoulders for me (on track at least), maybe they prefer -3 deg of camber but not willing to go that far personally.

Like you say trailering and slicks would be ideal, can't believe how cheap a set are compared to semi's, if only it was a viable option

Not sure yet Andy, I'm at donington next friday so will see then weather permitting. I had AR1s last year which I thought were great other than the wear rate, the MRF are from what I have read a little more durable with similar performance. They are a little more expensive however.

Phew - good to see positive experiences for the ARC-8s…. :D

Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres are fitted - I’ll get some pics up when I get round to putting them on the car. To AndyBeech’s point above - I’m running -2.7 degrees camber on mine so hopefully that’ll be enough for them to work well on track…?

More to come….!

That'll help, my advice would be to keep a good eye on pressures on track, Michelin does have a guide for weight of car / pressures to run them. I think around mid 30's when hot IIRC, will be higher than you might think but I found they actually worked quite well around mid 30's. Rear tyres had good fairly even wear, fronts lasted well and tread wise are fine but the outer shoulders seemed to take a pounding and blistered quite quick which is a shame as the meat of the tyres still have fairly good tread. I did run the pressures quite low early on in their life by accident  so that probably didn't help in my case!

That was with minimum understeer as though and short-ish stints so wouldn't say I was overdriving them. Keep an eye and rotate if you can and sure you'll be fine. I presume you have the newer Connects as well which apparently have stiffer sidewalls which is good. Enjoy!

Thanks Andy - that's really helpful... A lot of conflicting info out there on t'interweb, but managed to find a guide from Michelin as you described and they recommend between 34 - 39 psi hot. When I ran Porsches on track they liked pretty high pressures too.

I have marked a few sidewalls on other track cars being a bit cheeky with low pressures... :?

And yes, they are the newer Connect tyres...

When it finally stops raining, I'll get the new wheels on and post some pics on here for the purists to give me a hard time!! :poke:

It’s stopped raining, so the wheels have been fitted - here’s a couple of cheeky pics as promised…

The offsets of these wheels are absolutely spot on - they fill the arches really nicely.

Tyres sizes for those interested are 235/35R19 up front and 265/30R19 at the rear - Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s for some fair weather driving and track work with the CSLs for going to meets/shows so I don’t get beaten up by the purists!

Thanks Beanie!!

Reinforcements now fitted - for anyone following this thread, please note that the part number for the reinforcements is different to the one listed earlier - please see pics below… Hopefully now ready for spring mileage & some track work after I sort the rear brake retainers :D

The fitment looks good there Mikey_Boy. What are the offsets as a matter of interest? We have a set of Arc8's in hyperblack, 18x10ET25 and 18x9ET42 to fit to one of our coupes. I'm hoping to use 235/40 and 265/40 tyre sizings but with a spacer on the front.(Cos Big Brakes perhaps one day)

Sorry for the hijack but if your question is about fitment I may be able to help - I'm running Apex EC7 18x8.5 ET35 on the front and 18x10 ET25 of the rear - fronts have a 245/40/18 tyre fitted and rear 265/40/18.

You'll definitely need a spacer on the front with that offset, why so shallow?!

Not really a fan of the dish for the front. Plus if my memory is correct we bought several sets at the same time direct from APEX, and some had been used as display items so the cost savings were very good, and this set was left after selling the others off. And apart from an Apex wheel set, I'm trying hard to resist adding stuff to this 4MC :)

For BTZ461’s benefit, here are the offsets I am running on the Apex wheels:

8.5 x 19 inch front ET35
9.5 x 19 inch rear ET22

For reference, OEM CSLs are ET44 at the front and ET 27 at the rear. I run a 5mm spacer on the front with the CSLs, no spacers on the Apex wheels.

much better, you'll notice they don't clunk half as much in this configuration . mines due to MOT next week, its first clean , install the parts hoard, correct paint , PPF it , then throw some miles on it, plus track days!!
