Loving the wheel!

Thinking of getting mine done, as it's just not thick enough.. Can I ask what the cost was?

£130 for the retrim then depending on what you decide to do about getting it done as to postage or fitting etc.
I emailed him about a month ago and arranged a date convenient to us both to drive up there and have him swap it all over which he charged me £15 to do and took him 20mins.

Well worth it TBH

No, he will have one done to your requirements ready to go on your car, its basically an exchange wheel basis, with a fitting service option.

Same here, I've got the double padding, tri colour stitching, perforated leather sides and its great, much thicker than standard. Its a great cheap alternative to the M Sport wheel. However based on what Jonny Essex did I believe the M sport wheel is even thicker than the Royal's retrim although I have never compared them myself. Based on it being thicker I bet a retrimed M Sport wheel from Royals would be really nice (I believe he does them). Anyone had there M Sport one done?

I had an M sport wheel in my 2.0 sport and it is thicker than even a double padded royal wheels retrim.

Did you think there was a great deal in it between the Royals retrim wheel and the M Sport. Just curious really if its worth the upgrade from a Royal retrim to the M Sport like Jonny Essex has done recently, particularly when you factor in the cost. To be honest until he did it I had assumed the double padding put the standard one on a par with the M Sport.

The royal wheels retrim doesn't give you the same feel as an M sport wheel. What it does do is vastly improve the standard wheel at a reasonable cost. So no, its not as chunky a feel as an M wheel, but secondhand M wheels in good condition are very pricey and so I went for the royal wheels retrim as an affordable compromise - it comes back looking and feeling like a new wheel

Mine is a bit shabby and a bit thin. Now I've seen yours, I can just imagine mine looking like that but with the blue and green Alpina stitching theme running through it.

Thats another £130 gone from the budget come winter when it's SORN'd, Thank you :x

It's not a massive difference - you'll be fine :lol:

I actually think the royal retrimed wheels look better than the m just more modern and upmarket. But the feel of the m just can't be beaten

Thanks, I think it was you that gave me the idea in another thread didn't you do your third stop light too ?
I have enough to do the headlights but not too sure about that.

Those steering wheels look nice. What is the difference between the normal wheel and the M wheel in terms of appearance, i.e. how do I know which I've got?
