Surely, when he questioned the fitter about NOT using a torque wrench, he should have insisted? Rather than thinking it would be "ok"

Personally, I always use a torque wrench, after SLOWLY fitting and nipping up my bolts with my cordless impact wrench, as I know that even my 3/8" wrench can do them up to 300ftlb, and my 1/2" cordless is just over 600ftlb. Air impact wrenches, such as the Aircat I was looking at a few months ago get to 1150ftlb!
