A busy weekend ahead

I took the plunge and ordered the below – Hopefully with me following the detailed and tried & tested how to’s that you guys have kindly written up I shouldn’t have any problems (but await the flood of 'help me' posts come Saturday morning)

- M Multifunction Steering Wheel
- Cruise Control Stork
- Universal hardtop Lift / Hardtop Frame (Phil aka cj10jeeper – I did try and fashion one like you, but reached my DIY limitations within minutes)

i was looking at lifts but in the end got an £80 trolley off ebay. if you dont mind me asking how much is the bmw one?
 
Too much! Bad side of £300

I have limited garage space so couldn't go the trolley route - also the prolapsed disc in my neck doesn't help much either, so a much needed purchase.

Although it does look like our summer has halted somewhat, so the hardtop may stay on for a a few more weeks.
 
Two jobs down - just the Steering Wheel to fit when it gets here

Cruise Control was a doddle following the guides available here

Hardtop Hoist was a little more problematic but its up and works a treat

Correct, although putting the hardtop on does take a few minutes more than taking it off. But as long as you line the car up its a straight forward job.
 
wow that i genius! you should get some lines painted on garage floor to allow you to line the car up perfectly for the roof on and off.
 
My house is 120+ years old, so I guess the garage was an after thought, not to mention having power sockets in there :)

had to bump this after all this time.... i needed to ask something.... how on earth do you get this on the car with the frame sections hanging underneath the actual top, the rear sections look like the'd rest on the rear section of the car???
 
Putting it back on is easier than taking it off

But once you have done it a couple of times its quite easy, but there is a knack...

if you want, your more than welcome to pop round for a demonstration as explaining the process will only confuse matters
