Nice sound

Is he flashing his hazards to warn the driver behind, or intimidate the drivers ahead?

That's just the brake light's flashing :)

They don't actually flicker like that in real life. It's just that LED's appear to flicker on video sometimes because of the camera's shutter speed.

Regarding the race, the new 991 is undoubtedly a very fast car. The "regular" 911 S has nearly as much power as the first gen 997 GT3! Imagine what they'll do with the 991 GT3 and GT3 RS.

You can actually buy software to make them flicker from across the pond, however it invalidates the warranty

The flickering taillights is actually a new feature to warn those behind of hard braking.

Bi-Xenon headlights are also standard, while corner lighting from the Dynamic Light System is optional. The new sunroof is a win-win. It slides over the top of the roof, and not inside it as before, allowing for both the lower overall height and additional headroom. Wide hips still dominate the rear view and new LED tail lights flash under hard braking to warn those following too closely. An active rear spoiler deploys automatically at 75 miles-per-hour.

On some cars yes, our Z4's also have a similar system but the flicker shown in the video is caused by the camera and LED refresh rate.

I watched this on my phone this morning, got in my parents Megane tonight flicked to Bluetooth audio and got a ear full of 911 looking around to see where its coming from to realise the car had started YouTube on my phone and blasting 911 exhaust note through the stereo
