93D2 Airbag fault

Hi all, hoping someone can advise on a Warning Light as I want to keep on top of any problems that arise..

The airbag light on my dash is constantly illuminated, had the fault code read today....

93D2 Telltale Lamp For Passenger Airbag Deactivation.

When reset it illuminates again straight away.
Can anyone kindly point me in the right direction to find and cure the problem?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Is your passenger airbag deactivated? Should be a button or something either next to the gearstick or somewhere on the passenger side

The airbag key position is on but when turned to the deactivated position alert light next to the gearstick is not lit....could possibly be linked to the fault maybe?

I had the exact problem (93D2), and fixed it for £3.

I found that a fuse connected to the “Passenger Airbag Off” indicator light had blown (fuses simply break over time).

Youtube video of the fix:

The fix:
1. Open the fuse box / area found to the right of the driving pedals.
2. Remove the broken fuse, likely found in slot F16 (its a Red 10 Amp fuse). Visually check if the element inside is broken.
3. If broken, buy a new Red 10 Amp fuse (e.g. from Halfords £3), and insert it into the empty F16 slot.
4. Start the car. The airbag warning light should automatically disappear after 3 seconds and the “Passenger Airbag Off” indicator light should now be illuminated (found on the left hand side of light switches above the front windscreen). No need to clear the code with a diagnostics tool.

Hope this helps. Two garages glanced at my problem and said it could cost hundreds to investigate and fix, so I'm glad I drove away and did it myself... £3!!
