I haven't read the thread at all, but I am 99% sure I know the exact nature of the discussion here

Funnily enough it's not descended into the usual I don't like this format etc and it's mostly about the Verdi Lambo which looked ace!

Ed Shearn (or however you spell it) did rather well considering he'd never even sat in the drivers seat ever. And he gave one of his guys a Porsche for his xmas bonus........not a bad guy at all but he doesn't look exactly mean.

Ha, well I must say I'm impressed :D

Sadly I missed the show tonight, but will be watching on catch up tomorrow.

Star of the show the Twizy, what a delight !

Tim.

I was concerned it might have the same problem Hammond had on his bike when it hit the tram lines - those wheels looked very narrow and small. . .

:driving:

turned it off bored tbh.

like the hurican bit however. the rest of it was of no interest.
That is the same for me and like I did with the last series I just watch it on iplayer because I couldn't imagine sitting through the whole show because it would bore me too, I enjoyed the lambo review and I watched the star in the car because I like Ed Sheeran but the rest of it I just flicked by so I only ever end up watching about 15 minutes of the whole show because that's all that ever really interests me.

Its a car show that doesn't contain many cars! I appreciate its a money making entertainment show and the majority love it for that but I just like to watch the car reviews and messing about in hovercrafts and the like just doesn't do it for me.

I certainly wouldn't say no to a Hurican, my favourite Lamborghini for a long time.

In reality, even with modest sports cars these days, you can't get anywhere near the car's limits on a public road without risking your licence or putting others in danger. I don't really understand Top Gear's view about the car not being exciting enough when sitting in traffic, is this ever exciting no matter what car you're in?!

Andrew.

I understand what they mean I think because when I had my M3 when you were sat in traffic there wasn't anything special about it (boring interior/quiet) and you may as well just be sat in any old 3 series, whereas when I had my TVR even sat in traffic it felt special because of its lovely unique interior and you could still hear the engine/exhaust so it just added a little character to the experience.

I also think what they mean is Audi have finally managed to take away some of the specialness of a Lambo with their typical dullness and that was something that always worried me when Audi took over the company and it was always going to happen...I still wouldn't say no to one though!! :D

Audi were always going to ruin Lamborghini in the end with their dull handling traits. The R8 was only any good because it was Lambo know-how under the skin. The inescapable fact is that the 458 Italia, (and to a lesser extent the McLaren 650s) is a far more accomplished car, surprising when you consider it is "old" tech and is about to replaced with a new model.

Sadly I think the brand is in decline at the moment. They don't have an interesting pipeline of new models and the competition is frankly better.

Fast enough compared to what it is replacing though... Let's not forget that this isn't competing in the same space as the Aventador.

As for its handling, I've heard it's not so great at v-max on Hungarian motorways.... :exitright:
