The interior is just so similar to every other new BMW model, is that bad, not sure, but definitely takes away from the quirkiness of the previous generations. IMO it feels like they've missed a real chance to raise the brand excitement/perception with this car.

...except the fully digitised dash of course. Genuine improvement or Playstation city?

That’ll be a feature on every car from 2019 onwards, and it’s not really anything new today is it. I’d much prefer it if they would have been really bold with their design flair on this, so you either loved or hated it, but it’s just so bland, feels like the current gen Audi TT, all feels very forgettable...

Looking at the options list, bar the ‘black pack’ all options ticked come to roughly 56k, spec up a Boxster or F type to the same spec and you’re north of 75k, nigh on 20k more if you want the toys on a car that’s perhaps looking dynamically better, or on a par with, the Jag, and maybe just a little off the 718, but not enough to be a problem, it seems a great choice......looks depending.....

With the advent of the G29 my thoughts have turned to the E89 3.0 and its depreciation - in 18 months when mine is paid off those silky smooth beasts might be very tempting

Seems like only the 40i is the only 6cyl car ?
Consider yourself lucky that there are any 6 cylinder engine versions at all, BMW could have dropped them completely à la Porsche with the Boxster

Give it 10 years and regulations will probably mean that the last generation of internal combustion engines in cars are 2 cylinder/500cc with several turbos that'll sound like an amphetamine-overdosed beehive... :x

So it's the ideal car for wife-swappers... :bonk: thanks 'The Sun' for concentrating on the important stuff

Please don’t post scanned/photographed copies, for copyright reasons.
I thought that was the reason the Sun review disappeared from Gwest44's post but, so that people know what I was talking about, hopefully this small excerpt from the end of the review will be allowed?

Well, at least they're not turning the z4 into a four door!

I must admit that I do like the rear of the new car... Shame you can’t have that without the new front
