7 years (Updated, Aero Skirts, M Rear Bumper)

Top work Richard, at least that's something to keep you happy while you're missing the Applecross run

And I'm with you on the rear lights: I much prefer the pre-facelift so it's great to see so much extra effort being taken to retain them with an ///M rear bumper.

I see not

Sorry mate, you've lost me.
It is getting done where you got yours done. That is why I was asking if anyone knew of a cheap B&B and what I can do to kill the time whilst the work is being done.

Richard, WTF were you thinking, get them off now, I will volunteer to get rid of them for you

Why have I only just read this thread now?! What a great journey. No news from the doc yet about a cure for Z4-itis? I'm coming down in a bad way...

New wheels arrive tomorrow, and just chased the courier for my clear lights

Wow, totally love this car,
It's good to see someone thinking outside the box with the rear bumper.
Credit to you

Great story... Car is looking amazing!

Just reread this... I am getting my exhaust fitted on friday 29 june at the same place in mansfield.

I live 30 miles away in derby, more then welcome to spend the night at mine

great story ! to bad you nicked my idea for doing an M rear conversion :P ! nahh, just kidding ! i love it ! i'm saving up to do some work on the bumpers and outside, and aan Rear M conversion was one of the things i was thinking of. look great an certanly i want to do that too !!

It looks absolutely badass! And i never use that word in real life btw :D

The rear looks great and its good to see a bodyshop willing/enjoying a bit of experimentation.

I would be very proud of her, she probably owes you nothing after all these years and looks that good to boot. Result

Thanks for the positive comments everyone, if I'm honest the rear bumper still needs a little bit work as I'm not totally happy with the finish but I needed the car back and was rushing the guy to finish and I'm not going to complain too loudly as he was incredibly helpfull even doing the job in the first place.

As an aside anyone care to have a guess on the cost, all the rear bumper work, spraying and fitting the Aero Skirts, spraying the cross member of the front bumper Satin Black and some remedial work on the front bumper where the filler used to fill the washer jet holes had sunk a bit (which he did without me saying anything).

Actually thinking of getting him to do a full respray next year as the amount of stone chips on the front is starting to depress me everytime I wash it.

Thanks for the offer, but I have just booked the Premier Inn round the corner from the exhaust place but I could cancel :D
As has been said before it's this kind of offer that makes this forum so great to be a part of.

what a great write up, when are you having your exhaust done?

if im not working away i'll pop over for a drink to the Castlewood, original guvnor isnt too far away, maybe i can encourage him to come over too

Had to check I'd made the reservation for the right night, lol. Going to see Springsteen at the Stadium of Light later that week and that's the only date that keeps sticking in my head.

Anyway I'm booked into the Castlewood Premier Inn on the 18th June.

Hehe, nice write up... 7 years is a long time to own the same car!

I've not done many mods really, none that I'd consider hugely moddy.

I'd like an M bonnet and aero side skits and I think a re-spray in same colour to get it all super tidy, and then a red roof to match the seats.

Hmmm

It's actually 8 years now, .
Rightly or wrongly I thought it would be good to continue in the same thread with all changes I never thought I'd do.
I can't honestly ever see me getting rid of the Zed now and am starting to look at other cars to elevate the Zed to a high days and holidays car.

Thinking of a full respray next year to tidy everything up (mainly all the stone chips peppering the front)
