7 Series Info?

Just browsing Autotrader and you can get a lot of car on around a 2007/2008 plate with the 7 series. Fuel economy doesn't look ridiculous either.

Anyone with direct experience? Which is the best engine and options?

Would seem an utterly amazing used car option if you consider the original list prices.

I've always thought this about the 7 seires', I'll have the v12 with sub 4.5 second 0-62 mph figures please.........

So much luxury and a great looking car actually. Intrigued as to what they're like to live with.

My guess, probs way more expensive to run and service than our Zeds - but you can take the family, luggage and kitchen sink too!

If I were in the maffia I'd probably buy a bullet proof 7!

You've convinced me Jamie. I am adding it to my 'future family car' list. Along with an RS4 and the V8 XF.

I have had two, I had a 735 and a 740 V8.

Lovely, lovely cars and the V8 is fantastic. Consumption about 25 mpg and a performance for the size of car is lovely.

I bought an X5 as I needed the space, but would have another 7 in a flash.

The V8 is definitely a temptress. And that 7 interior looks like you could live in it.

I had all the options on my last one, including the comfort seats. Hours of fun on the motorway to blow up all those cushions :)

:) Not quite X5 palatial, but enough boot room PVR?

I quite like them, I suppose the only downside is, as with all cars which were mega bucks when new, the running costs and parts are priced to match that initial purchase price. Maybe with a warranty though?

What are the service costs on something like this? ///M equivalent or more? Warranty sounds like the way forward regardless.

Neither of my 7 series had ANY expense at all, just Oil, Insp 1, Oil, Insp2.

Think I spent about £950 in 7 years in my last V8 7 series.

Depreciation was about 3k a year.

Exactly that yes. And as my cars are always in exceptional condition, it was sold privately to the father of a friend of mine who had another 5 years of trouble free motoring after me.

I never took extended warranty out on it either.

The great things about the 7 series was that when I did have one of the windscreen washer pumps fails (yes, they have two pumps for the windscreen - one for intensive clean and one for normal :) ), the dealer replaced it FOC when the car was 5 years old as they considered that on a 7 series, a part like that should not fail.

Good of them!
