owned the z 7 months now and my first automatic in 43 years of driving and will never go back to a manual box again , that's 10,000 miles up since purchase
Which size engine have you got? I hope it's the 3.0 - nothing worse (in my opinion) than a slow underpowered auto - so tedious and the constant drone of the engine trying to gather speed.
Sorry - had a very nasty flashback of an old company pool car - a shitron xantia 1.8 4 speed auto. God it was horrible.
Happy to hear another Z owner enjoying the lazybox
I was converted in my early 30's to the auto & they have just got better & better over the last 15 years
TBH the one i disliked the most was VW DSG in my wifes last car :? just couldn't love it
Put a decent auto with some decent torque & they give faultless drive & performance with zero hassle .
IT was THE only reason i didn't go for a ZMc

Same as you.....38 years driving and wouldn't have anything other than "Auto" now.
If mine was a Garage Queen and not a daily drive then I might of considered the "Manual".
The "Auto" just makes the daily commute bearable in the stop/start traffic.
A 3rd op, this time on my left ankle (all from playing league badminton of all sports!) finally put pay to my manual driving days.
These days, with sports mide on, both my zed and 530d MSport go like stink. Like others have stated before me, I too would never go back to a manual box.
I drove for four years an automatic V6 Tiburon with plenty of torque. I loved the roar when I forced the kickdown! Autos can be driven very fast, but require a little bit different approach. I love them as well as manuals, but cannot have both - so now it's time for some clutch fun.
Bought a 35i DCT, quick but auto was so boring. Fast shifts yes, but no fun blatting round town.
Not bad in heavy traffic , big I just lost focus on driving when the car was making all the decisions. Tried flappy paddle mode, but somehow felt my input was not really needed.
It lasted 5 months and I went back to a lovely 6 speed Alpina RS
