676 Amp wiring 'v' Match Up 8 BMW

Hi, I have a HiFi optioned 35i and have been updating the speakers to Audison. Its all going nicely with just the footwell & subs to do.
Before doing that, I have been looking into an amp upgrade.
I have read that the 676 amp is only a 6 channel with some nifty wiring to support the 11 speakers (such as the 2 footwell 165mm speakers wired in parallel - are they 8 ohm then?).

My initial thoughts of the channel config came up with 8 channels which does not fit:
Front Centre
Front Left
Front right
Both front footwells
Rear left
Rear right
Left sub
Right sub

2 questions,
1, What is the allocation of channels with the 676 setup?
2, I am looking at the Match Up 8 BMW which is 8 channel - is this a plug & play goer or would rewiring be required?
(amp is 6 x 65 Watts @ 4 ohm + 2 x 90W @ 4ohm or 2 x 160 @ 2ohm)

Thanks in advance

The 676 amp in the E89 allocates as follows

Left Front door mid/tweeter
Right front door mid / tweeter
Left rear cabin mid
Right rear cabin mid
Front cabin centre
Right sub
Left sub
Both woofers wired in parallel…8 ohm speakers 4 ohm load..

Ie 8 channels all amplified

Ideally you need either 8 channels of which the woofers should be each allocated a channel..and the subs are driven by one channel

Or

You need 9 channels amped if you want to drive each speaker group individually…

Sonically the subs can be driven by one channel..

The woofers sonically should each have their own channel..

I used a match 7 to drive all non sub speakers and a separate alpine to drive both subs as one logical unit.

Most vendors support for E90 series cars doesn’t recognise the unique attributes the e89 has..ie two extra woofers..

Currently I’m sorting out a 677 with a match 10 DSP..

Thanks for the feedback. Very useful.

I think I will go down the Match UP 8 route and see how well it powers everything as is. Then (depending on how that works out) either live with that or further expand to a 2nd amp and split the 2 footwell mids onto their own channels.

Yup that works..

Are you using Audison subs?

Be aware that because the adapter harness that AF supply is wired for E90s that you will need to do something to make it work on E89s.

The two woofers are conveniently paired together on a cable adjacent to the amp..that will allow you to break them out and drive them individually from the new amp.

Match 8 has the virtual processing capability which helps in configuring things …
