I was going to have a bid on this but it got just a little bit spicy for my tastes

I bought one of those a few weeks back.

it's a bit smaller. 1:24 the size intact. :D

I wonder if it’s a silk glove or a pig to drive compared to the //M

Maybe not exactly a silk glove but apart from a leaf sprung rear axle it is quite a modern car. Disc brakes, 5 speed synchro box, 3 litre V12 300hp and only weighs just under 900kg :driving:
It was a race car however so no headliner or carpets and only cloth seats. I would imagine it's quite a visceral and sonorous experience to drive one. If only... :D

Wowza, for a series II as well! :o

It's actually a '62 'Series 1' car, the third built but it was rebodied by Scaglietti in '64 with the 'Series II' body.

Quite right... helps If I read the whole article.

Just read that the Ecurie Francorchamps Series I reportedly sold privately for $70m last year! Crazy sums!

I have a whole big whisky bottle full of 1, 2 & 5p coins. I felt sure that there would be enough for a 250 GTO.

I'm now having doubts! :P

Maybe you need to start another bottle, but limit it to £50 notes and gold sovereigns.
