6 days in the Alps

Just come to the end of an epic 6 day Alps road trip.

Home > Montreux > St Moritz > Cortina d'Ampezzo > Garmisch-Partenkirchen > Strasbourg and back home, via the Furka, Gothard (pass not tunnel) Stelvio, Valparola and Grossglockner (12,500 feet up!) passes. Amazing amazing driving.

We had 100f temps in Italy, wild thunder storms in Switzerland, and no snow anywhere this year which contrasts to 20ft of snow on top the Stelvio last time we were here.

The newly supercharged Zed ran perfect and didn’t miss a beat (despite pissing Euros out of the exhaust) and the LSD was a game changer on the hairpins, but it’s now filthy and the front brake pads are right royally fucked, but that’s part of the fun!

Looking forward to doing it all again next year!

Probably a trip every Zed owner wants to do, but few actually get around to it. - Well done.

Surely there are more pics tho ?

Well that's looks stunning and definitely on my to do list

Phenomenal driving route, and car looks great Stu!

The old Tremola road over the Gotthard pass is a work of art - words don't do it justice. I was there myself 10 days ago (albeit on 2 wheels) - the descent down the other side to Andermatt is fantastic as well. Would love to return and tackle it in my Z at some point.

For a moment I could not see from what country you came

It is, and you should! Andermatt is great, stayed there last time, lunched there this time, lovely and traditional.

Looks fantastic

This sort of route was our planned one for this year but the Pyrenees trip took over, this one may likely be the next one :driving:

I’ve been in this car - the performance is epic. That trip must have been something indeed. I hate to think what the ⛽️ bill was, but I’m sure it was worth it.

Yeah i know the felling of this part of Italy, went there last year two times, ones with the GTI and ones with the E46 M3.
Great roads and scenery. Love the pictures.

Done the same roads and places quite a few times and totally agree, they are fabulous.

I did the Grossglockner for the first time in June but unfortunately, the weather didn’t work out too well on the day. Didn’t spoil the fun though. :)
