Their generation sacrificed and gave. They were of a time when pride and patriotism knew no political lines and boundries.
I hope and pray that they are remembered as much in the future as they were in the past. As they pass on they only leave us with their memories and photographs.

My grandfather on my fathers side was a Gunners Mate on the USS Oklahoma (BB-37) on Dec. 7th, and survived.. Died in the 1980's.

On my mothers side,
A uncle was a ball turrent gunner on a B-17 over Japan... (Still alive)
Another uncle was a POW in Germany... Died in the 1980's. His son has written a book on his fathers experiences... soon to be released...

If you ever have the chance to go to the USS Arizona Memorial in Hawaii or the Allied Cemetery in Normandy, you should do so... words cannot describe the feelings that will come over you..

My dad was in North Africa with Patton and then in Europe and was in the battle of the Bulge. He passed away last last August at the age of 90.

My grandad hung out in Syria/Palestine/Trans Jordan. He was there in case Rommel had taken Egypt.... Rommel never took Egypt - so my grandfather hunted deer during the war with his Lee-Enfield .303 :?
