5th gear super unleaded test

i used to use tesco's normal unleaded, but had quite a lot of white smoke coming out the exhaust.

changed to tesco momentum (99) and no more smoke.

worth the extra 5p per litre to me.

might give it a try if it reduces the exhaust smoke. mine looks like a train when it gets cold outside

it definitely reduced the smoke a lot.

white smoke came out of the back even on warm days, which was odd.

switched to 99 ron and have filled up about 10 tanks now and it's perfect.

I believe in Germany you can fill up with Shell V power racing 100 RON. Wish we could get that here

You can also get Aral Extreme which is 102 RON, for about €1.80 last time I tried some.

It didn't seem to make any difference on the M though - so I assume the M can't take advantage of anything higher than 98/99 or that it needs a couple of tanks to 'learn'.

Although it did make me believe I could abuse the car a little as I'd treated it to a bit of the 'good' stuff
