"5E21 ABS-DSC: Pressure sensor 2" error

I get these lights come on, after I've been driving for about 30 mins.



I've brought a K-line cable from Bcables.com and struggling a little with the software. But have found this error...

Can anyone shed any light as to what this pressure sensor 2 is and where its located?
Do you think its just a case of replacing the sensor or do you think the sensor is actually detecting a fault (i.e. doing its job correctly)?

Any help will be really appreciated.

Looks like one of the DSC sensors has failed - or is starting to - there are two of them and they have to agree within a certain range. Mine first started to error when the sensor got hot (due to heat from engine), then disappeared after it cooled down

This often starts as an intermittent fault and then eventually becomes permanent - replacement sensor costs around £95 from Soapers and is an easy DIY replacement as long as you have (or can borrow) a 27mm spanner

I'm going to buy the sensor (if I can work out the part no!), some brake fluid and have a go at changing it.
Just hope that it is the sensor at fault, and not something else causing a difference in pressure between the two circuits (i.e. sensor working correctly and doing its job).
The car could probably do with a brake fluid change too. Do I go with DOT4 or 5.1?

Easy to confirm it's the sensor - just clear the codes and swap the electrical connectors between the two sensors, the fault should swap from sensor 2 to sensor 1

When you swap the sensor, it's a good idea to bleed the brakes anyway - there are lots of decent brake fluids, personally I like ATE Type 200, it's DOT 4 but meets/exceeds the spec for DOT 5.1

By all means do a brake fluid change if you want to at the same time. However for the purposes of changing the sensor it really is a very easy swap and you can do it in under a minute without literally spilling a single drop of brake fluid. So no need to even top up, never mind bleed the system.

Really? Oh well I've already brought two bottles of DOT4 and I have no idea when it was last done. Sensor on order too from http://www.genuineautoparts.com/uk/.

Sensor now changed. Probably the easiest job I've ever done on a car, 1 minute with only a little dribble of brake fluid. Cleared error with diagnostic software. Drove the car for 2.5 hours today and no errors. Happy bunny!
