57 Z4 MC for sale - Midnight Blue

Well, it may be a good idea for you to say in the ad something along the lines of:

"The car will soon be due an Inspection 2 service. I am willing to have this service undertaken at a BMW dealer prior to purchase, or the buyer can have £1000 taken off the price of the car and undertake the service at their leisure."

I personally think that would hugely appeal to a buyer, as it means they can get it done themselves if they want to, and it demonstrates you are someone who doesn't shy away from running the car properly.

Seeing as many BMW dealers offer the service for £700-£750 I certainly wouldn't take £1000 off of the price.

If you are willing to drop your price by £1000 – just get the service done. With a pending service and the potential for other work to show up when in, as a buyer I would rather see an ad with 'just had xxx miles ago Inspection 2 service. Seeing as you can get an Inspection 2 done around the £700/£750 mark from a BMW dealer it makes sense to get this done for a nice clean advert. Same as Tax & MOT.

I thought it was nearer £1000? Still, replace the £1000 for £750 in what I said and I think it'd work well.

The main thing being the buyer can then get it done in 2000 miles instead.

Literally exactly what I am looking for (minus CSLs :p) as an upgrade from my 2.5i.

If I can shift mine before it's sold you will have an offer from me!

Hi Steve,

Yep, just put it back on for 14,250. It just hasn't got the interest that I hoped at the price I initially wanted. Its clear that the service is an issue.

Unfortunately, as its been parked on the mean streets of London, there are a few slight dents and a couple of scatches so cosmetically its not perfect. This has also put off a few buyers.

From phoning around the BMW dealers, a service is around £800 and I went to a bodyshop today and about £700 will get her cosmetically sorted back to new.

Therefore I think that around the 14k mark is a fair price. As the Forum members will know, this is mechanically sound and has been serviced in strict adherence with the BMW shedule, has always had Shell Nitro/equivalent petrol and has always had the Castrol M specific Oil used. Also, new discs/pads all round a few k ago and long tax/MOT makes it good value (as well as the AUC warranty)

At this price, for a buyer willing to give it a bit of TLC, they'll have an excellent bargain.

I've had 2 offers from trade buyers to buy it at 13k but I think that's too low.

My wife gave birth recently to an extremely premature baby 3.5 months early so I've spent the last 4 months in hospital. If i had more time/energy, I'd hold on and get the work done (but then I'd be tempted to keep it!!) so its best to move it on now otherwise it'll just not be used and I'd hate to see it wither away :(

Unfortunately, at this price, the best Forum discount will be £250. 14k and its yours!

Cheers,

Ramy

Giving this some serious thought. It would involve me having to offload my 3.0si Coupe and refinance though - given the number of Coupe's on the market at the moment I am not 100% sure it is a sellers market.

Will let the man maths work a bit harder yet.

Do you mean All 15 of them?

Or the 1 Midnight Blue that is available (of the total 17 in the UK)?

For clarity I meant the market for offloading my non M Coupe, not the car for sale in this thread!! Sorry for any misunderstanding!

I don't disagree!

Evening chaps (and chapesses),

Apologies for being off the radar. its been a hectic few days. it looks like the price reduction did the trick and today the Zed was sold at asking price. He's a petrol head and is upgrading from a Nissan 350z to the correct Z :)

In terms of the dents/cosmetic that will need doing, there was flaking Ion 3 of the alloys, couple of parking dents on the left wing and a scratch on the front door.

Nothing that is visible but on closer inspection will need remedying.

On this basis, £14,250 seemed a fair price bearing in mind it'll need an inspection 2 service as well.

I'm happy with the price achieved. The buyer has a good deal ( a decent spec, mechanically sound car in need of a little cosmetic tlc).

It's been a pleasure to own this car and be part of the forum. Although I won't be a Z car owner, I'll still be dropping in on the site!

All the best,

Ramy

Congrats, Ramy! Hopefully my advice helped a bit in the end!

Shows how good the forum is when people will still visit even without a Z4.
