54 3.0SE with a few little problems!

Hi,
Just purchased my first Zed today. What a drive! Had a 6 hour round trip to pick it up, so got a good chance to see what she felt like on the way home!

Couple of issues and questions I have about it.

1 : when opening the roof the windows go down great and there seems to be no problem. When closing the roof again the passenger side window goes up as normal but the drivers side stays down. Is that normal? If not how do I resolve it?

2: Electric folding mirror on the drivers side works a charm but not on the passengers side. Normal? If not how to rectify?

3: The windows have a 2 layer switch. Up once and you manually move the window, up all the way it it takes it all the way up automatically. The drivers side window will go down on its own but not go up. Is this normal?

4: the car came without a Satnav Disk in it. Where is the best place to find one (either purchase or download)?

I think that's about all the questions I have today!
Thanks in advance

Hi Luke

1. Window reset procedure. It's simple and takes less than a minute. It will probably solve the window issue. If not, a dealer or BMW specialist may need to have a look at it.

2. Not sure.

3. See note 1.

4. BMW dealer. However links have been known to circulate out with this forum where the data can be downloaded

I'm sure some of the gurus will be able to help a little more than me....

Appreciate the help. Just needed pointing in the right direction! I shall search the forum for said link :) thanks

I have folding mirrors and they both fold

Maybe the motor had gone? You can pick them up (occasionally) on eBay for between £20 - £40

Was reading the owners manual lastnight, This is like trying to pilot the starship! There seems to be so much you are able to do with the computer etc... BUT i have no idea at the min where to get started!

I tried the window reset and it worked a treat to make the windows shut properly when the door opens/closes which is great! Thank you! Still won't work properly when the roof is gong down/up. Will have a play around and see what's what.

Is there any way of resetting the temperature? Mine simply states that it is -40?! It doesn't show the correct thing :(

I've just seen as well that there is a female USB connector coming out of the centre console othe passenger side. I have tried to plug my phone and iPod in there to see if it works but it does nothing with either.
What could it be for? Would there be an on off button for something to connect iPhone/iPod to?

So after a good rummage around under the AC controls i finally found the male end of said USB lead! apparently whatever it used to be connected to, is no longer there!

Question with regards to iphone integration...
The 3 ways that i am aware of to be able to get the iphone/ipod integrated are:

1: Aux lead - I guess you can not control the iphone from any of the controls with this solution?
2: Specific iphone snap in cradle - i guess this gives it full function through the controls on the car - steering wheel, radio, screen etc? If i get this does the phone have to be in the cradle for it to work of does it connect through BT?
3: Media bridge - or something similar. are you able to control the phone from the car controls?

Thanks!

I put a Mediabridge in my car and it is hands down the best mod/upgrade you could do to one of these cars :D

Control tracks from the steering wheel, and activate voice command/Siri from the voice button on the wheel over Bluetooth. Works brilliantly.

The only issue of sorts is the Bluetooth Stereo Audio streaming isn't the best quality, but the quality over USB/iPod cable is sensational.
