50/50 weight distribution

When they say we have 50/50 weight distrubition, is that with a full tank of gas? :scratchhead:

When you people track your car, do you have a full tank to start and does the rear end get loose when the tank is low? :scratchhead:

Just wondering how the gas in the tank effects the performance.

Autocross or track, I run with the smallest amount of gas the car will run on. At the track I'll have 1/3 full tank. I don't want to experience the dreaded "not enough gas pucker factor" whilst driving like I stole it. Autocross 1/4 tank will get me 4 runs and enough to get the closest gas station.

I believe so, they refer to the "wet weight" which means the car full of fluids, yet mileage tests are done with tank half full

Bear in mind also that 50/50 is only the ideal weight distrobution if you have 4 identical contact patches (no stagger, equal camber/toe, etc.) and are traveling at max velocity. Otherwise, a rearward bias is actually preferable.

Better be careful how much waters in my washer bottle!

Thats why I never have any water in the bottle....God knows I would not want to screw up the weight. I also used lightweight stripes, and centered them to keep the car in balance

I used nitrogen in my real tires, that and Firesign Theater on the stereo balances out all inconsistancies.

Don't you need a compressed bottle of helium to breathe to make sure your body weight doesn't factor into the equation too?

After all there are no limits when the nirvana of True 50/50 Balance(TM) is at stake. :D

Just to be on the safe side I keep my ipod in the centre of my ashtray and I never put more than 2 CD's in the multichanger at once. I never carry loose change and I always keep the oil level on minimum.
