5 Series Headlight control Module fix.

My daily is a 5 series touring which is great car but it came up with this....

According to Google and Youtube you have to take the front bumper and headlight out which is an 'all fucking day' job just to get to the damn thing and 20 seconds to swap them.

You can just get to one of the two screws that hold it in though the service flap in the inner wing, but the other is tucked behind the metal panel and about 20mm away from it too, so you couldn't get anything in.

Me being me thought I can't be arsed with that, so thought I'd try and cut the inner wing or something, so started this morning and literally 30 minutes later is was swapped, tested and all cleared up!!

I'm not on any other BMW forums so if any of you are please share to save people wasting their time.....

Nice!
Do you know if there is room to get the headlight bulbs out using the same method?

I didn't try it but there is more room than the standard plastic hole but not loads.
