Searching Ebay last night i found the running gear & drivetrain from a fire damaged 2006 X3 ( same year as my zed )
My indy reckons it can be done with some slight modifications that wouldn't be seen & other than a slight loss in performance thinks it could make an epic Z capable of all weathers ?
Just wondered if anyone had heard of a similar conversion being done ?

I've heard of this happening before - guy bought a TT. Fun gone = job done :D

Remind me, what's the date today?

You could have let it run a little longer  was just warming up :P hadn't even got to asking whether it would tow a twin wheel caravan :D

I think it is a great idea anyway

I was looking at some big old wheels that came off an X5 a while back and put them against the side of the Zed. The arches would need quite a lot of work and it looked like there wasn't the space to roll them back.

The SLK above did a round the world trip. http://www.jimrogers.com/

What size were they ? Fatmikey managed X5 19's on his 86 with great success & no alterations
